Okay, I'm making a map/mod for Conquests. I have no custom files included inside the map at all. So far, it's pretty much been a change of civilizations and a map. Now, it's saying-

As said before, there are no custom units, techs, leaderheads, resources, or terrain types. I haven't pushed the editor to it's limits.
Yes, I've search these forums for an answer. Heck, I've searched most of Google for an answer, but so far 3/4 times it's been "Art\units\Knight\Knight Death.wav" that was missing.

I look forward to your positive feedback,

If you don't specify a Civilopedia entry for a Civ, this error will happen. I'm not sure, but it also might if you enter an incorrect one. Make sure for all your civs you have:

  • Civilopedia entry
  • Animations (forwards and backwards) for all four eras
  • Culture Group

I was able to get this same error a few days ago by deleting a civilopedia entry (and happened randomly across this thread today).

Late last year I was having all sorts of problems with CIVIII,,,,,
I eventually bought a Conquests CD and installed it. :) -
It seem that my problems with playing CIV3 were over.... but sadly not

I kept getting the same error, at completely random moments,,,sometimes early on the game, sometimes well into it, but always the same message,,,,

Seems to be the exact same problem you are having. I'm guessing you have Win7 or Vista running [programme File (x86)]. To solve this problem I did just 1 thing. I took the advice of 'Puppeteer'; I re-located my programme File setup. Programme files (x86) was side tracked and I re-directed everything through C:\Users\Public\...

I have had no troubles of any sort since this. :) -
