Custom Worlds

I am enjoy making randomized worlds on civ 2 but i am confused by what the difference in the options are. What difference does the age 3,4,5 billion years or the warm or cool temp make. This may have been in the instruction booklet but i never had on. Thanks for anyone who can clear this up for me.

They change the types of squares that are on the map, for the most part. For example cooler weather has more tundra spaces.

I like land that is normal with varied land mass size, wet and warm. This seems to provide for more rivers, and rivers rule.
