CZ3: (RaR) The Dragon Awakes

Correct on the armies, our armies may go wherever they please. :D However, armies in RaR are much weaker than in C3C IMHO, but are still used to terrorize the enemy.

Just follow the LK prohibited tactics and house rules and everything will be a-ok.

Obviously this game is a little more laid back, so the 24 hour got/ 48 hour play really isn't in effect here. This is more like a One week got it/2 week play. XD

lol, alright.

PS, i noticed you didnt answer my second part cause a few well placed typos changed what i said to "...and no intail training?" instead of "and no initial trading?" So...i'll asume we can trade, and that it was an extra addition, like the armies, that we arent going to follow?

Yes, we can trade with everyone. However, we MUST make certain we have no ongoing trades with the Arabs by the time we're in the MA. I want to keep our rep is shiny and untainted by mischief as possible. :mischief:

ok sounds good...by the way, i will be away from my computer with C3C on it until Thursday...so thats the earliest i can do my turn, besides its Zorn next according to the roster

Not very much was going on, so I will just note down the events, instead of detailing each turn.

Research:
We researched cultivation, and I traded domestication from Abu (for alphabet, pottery and 20 gold. Oh Abu, you son of a son of a tightwad!)
Went for caste system next.
Very disapointing: Even with domestication and cultivation, we have no new luxuries or boni, exept one horse way down the swamp-peninsula.

Expansion:
Hardy Clan completed. He went to his destination where he just arrived on my last turn. Feel free to settle in place or move on. I also made an attempt of a dotmap (I hope it isn`t zoomed out too much):
Dotmap_CZ3.jpg

Stupidity:
I couldn`t tame my curiosity and popped the hut. Won`t be barbs inside, will they? Of course they were. However, they had no intention to harm us (exept our poor scout). They are satisfied patroling their mountains. Abu killed one of them, and lost a warrior in response. So far, this is a lose-lose-lose deal for us, Abu and barbs.
Still I started a tribal guard in Xianyang to deal with them. Putting a defender on a hill or mountain on the NE-axis next to a barb is the best way to handle them in RaR.

Alright, here goes nothin:

Turn1-Settle Beijing
Turn2-
Turn3-
Turn4-Civil disorder in Nanjing, i turn up luxury, which makes us have negative gold per turn, i wanted to finish the granary, without making an entertainer
Turn5-
Turn6-Nanjing finishes granary, begins clan
Turn7-Finish researching caste system, begin Urbanization
Turn8-Finish Tribal Guardian, begin Worker Housing
Turn9-The Arabs are building The Hanging Gardens, Connect road to Beijing
Turn10-

ChinaRaR1.jpg

***That barb could be a problem, i couldn't get the tribal gardian up fast enough, maybe he'll go after the arab scout***
And the Save

Hmm... I'm not happy about not having any defenders there in Beijing. However, it shouldn't effect us too badly to have just one hit hard.

It seems I will have to ask for a skip until saturday-ish. My computer has to get its video card replaced (it's nearly 4 years old >.<) and it will take some time.

I ask that the next player PLEASE build more military, head towards literature and PLEASE get at least 2 more workers so we can fix up our core.

Roster:
cizzlewalk (screwed til Saturday-ISH)
madviking (you've returned right? Well, you're up now.)
Disenfranchised
Zorn
eddfire3

I don`t think we really need 2 more workers. For quite some time we can`t build anything but roads, so one more worker should be enough. Also we might be lucky and get a slave from the barbs.
Some more military would be nice, however. If possible, build them in our capitol, since it`t the only city with barracks.

Although this is true for the meantime, I suspect we will be getting the mining tech soon enough and will have to overhaul on shield production as soon as possible... that's why I asked for three.

Anyways, just be sure to try and expand another city madviking, keep us on par with them Arabs. =P

You`re right. I was thinking in AW terms, where you can either go for literature asap, leaving construction aside, or postpone lit.
I forgot that we can trade for it in this game.

0- nothing muh to do
IT: barb destroys monument construction, barb dies attacking Tribaldude (-3 HP), barb kills Arab scout :)
1-
2- 2/4 tribaldude kills 1/4 barb, promo :)
3-5
6- Nanjing clan -> clan
7- Urbanization -> Writing
8-
9- make shanghai, set on warrior
10- xianyang worker house -> hclan, peking monument -> serf, derg, didn't notice nanjing was about to riot...

Things- Arabs won't give a crap for Urbanization. Arabs are up Boats, Mysticism, Wheel, and Crap Mining

Hmm... Boats aren't that worthless (since more travel per boat unit), but we could seriously use Crap Mining and the Wheel. Our best bet is to go for the Philosophy run and then head towards Literature at ludacris speed. However, I think it would be wise to also send out a curragh or something and find those other civs!

 I can't blame you man, almost every game nowadays is AW since nobody wants to do scenarios or anything (which is the smarter way to go).

Good work madviking, another city and another tech are under our belts. Our two greatest concerns now are:

1) Getting IRON

2) Choosing a city for the GL

We also need to prepare a military force to take on the Arabs, however something tells me they're not going to be that big of a problem... but their knight/camel units can be *(&@$#4  HARD to deal with.

Roster:
cizzlewalk
madviking (the VA duo =P)
Disenfranchised (Where's the "got it"?)
Zorn

well i think Najing looks like a good spot for the GL, it has hills and forests near by for lots o shields :)

Yes, Nanjing looks perfect for it. If we're incredibly lucky, we'll have iron there too. But let's not push our luck :/

The GL isn't a as important on emporer, but it's better to build up cash and go for lesser techs while the AI gives us everything we need. :)

Don't forget about certain building wonders too, the Circus Maximus (3 arenas), the Temple of Zeus (3 temples) and Chichen Itza (3 courthouse) just for starters.

0)1500BC
Wow, we really need more troops. Start some builds.

2)1450BC
Run a scout through arab terrority.

4)1400BC
Build a Serf out of Bejiing>>Wiseman [10]

6)1350BC
Arabs demand 21gp, Cave in.
Barb appears form the north
Writing comes in>>Dynastism [14]
Nanjing builds Asian clan send it (no escort - risky) to hill on the way to the gold. >>Asian Clan

7)1325BC
Capital builds TG >> JW[4]

8)1300BC
Barb dies to shanghais TG

9)1275BC
Found Canton >> TG

10)1250BC
Above the arabs there seems to just be an icey penisula
Switiching Beijing to work the Pearls lowers Dynasticism to [9]

Realised I built Canton in a different place than zorns dot map.

@Cizzewalk: Chichen Itza actuall requires 3 temples, not 3 courthouses (so its good we got incense :) )

bump
Wheres Zorn?

Am I up again?
*looks at roster*
Indeed. Got it, will play tomorrow.

I have a problem with the save.
There comes an error saying thet the file is not valid.
