The time has come to bring upon a new age of Doubling your Pleasure, which will be found HERE! Another stoopid idea that only warriors like myself (or DocT :king: )could come up with! In this SG, we'll be playing as one of the new civs that comes w/ RaR, except Tibet... I have my reasons.

Stats:
Civ: Inca
Map: Archipelago
Water: 70%
Terrain: 4 Billion
Size: Large
Difficulty: Emporer
Barbs: Sedentary

Variant:
Tech Twister *Must follow the DEAD END tech tree list... we have to research (or trade)all possible dead end techs before taking new research paths... which have to in turn lead to other dead end techs. Even when we reach a new age, we MUST finish up the older age's dead end techs entirely before the next age research can begin!
Hitlist *
Must stay at war with the top civ on our diplomacy list... which means we go to war with the first civ we meet... stay at war FOREVER... then when they are dead we hit the next civ on top of our diplomacy list no matter how POWERFUL they are, WEAK they are, DEALS we have with them, or how FRIENDLY they are (this includes Germany :D ). Keep this in mind when making deals with the opponent (watch for civs about to be destroyed too).

Just a side note: This is the 1.01 Version of RaR

Get Rise and Rule for C3C... Right Here

Get the 1.01 Patch, HELL YEAH! You can find it at the bottom of the fifth post.

If you dont mind cisslewalk, i would like to join. I have tried SG's before a couple of months back, but i fell foul to computer and internet problems. Now i got me a new machine and a DSL connection.

I have seen the DYP mod for Civ but never played it because of the size of it. (wasnt able to download it)

Im currently playing Monarch on C3C. Not finding it too bad, but i do need to improve on my mm. So i guess, i could fill the training position for you... again if you dont mind.

Darn, it seems I'm too late to take the training slot. Still would like to play if possible.

Well, with 70 views ( ), I'm glad there is someone out there willing to enjoy RaR and what it has to offer.

@Knappagh1 Taking the noobie position means the rest of us will help you w/ whatever questions you have, plus you get to be last so you can see how the game is tackled :).

@Keiji No worries, we can help anyone out that needs it. Just be prepared for a new level of punishment... unless we play on monarch :D.

I'm still looking for at least 2 experienced DyP/ Emporer+ players out there to join. C'mon people, how often can you come across original ideas in this forum anyways?

Great, don't worry about the punishment. I don't mind a good challenge. It isn't much fun otherwise anyways. Perhaps it might be a good idea to move me back a little in the roster though. Your call.

Yeah, I was going to address that when we got more players, but I had planned it before. I'll take care of that now.

SIGN UP PEOPLE :bump: :gripe: <--listen to him!

hey cizzlewalk,

Do you know when the new version of RaR will be out. Im going to download the 1.00.11 version to see what im letting myself in for!!!

You are having troubles recruiting because doc snarfed the RAR players first.

Look for the thread TJ02 - Lucky Dyp The last posts were someone who had an interest in RAR. You may be able to recruit them.

I have been waffling on whether I want to try two RAR games or not. Finally decided, why the heck not.

Count me in.

I think emporer is the better difficulty to play as the AI has troubles with all the buildings it can build making it a slightly easier game. The hit list rule could make things much harder on emp though.

So Demigod - too hard for the variant. We could get slaughtered early.

Emporer - Hard at the beginning. Would get easier over time if we live. I would want to play a Militaristic civ for the initial boost.

Monarchy - Probably fairly easy with the only real difficulty being the initial war.

My choice would be Emperor. Perhaps the best way would be to play two starts for 30 turns and then choose between them so we don't play one that is overrun early on.

Welcome Greebley, we now have one Godly player on the roster! All your points on RaR difficulty and AI I agree with. The AI doesn't have the "intelligence" to effectively choose the specific buildings needed, especially for gov specific types. As far as I know, the AI focuses mainly on basic key techs and their buildings... seldom do I find gov specific buildings in an AI city (through espionage and when I'm in the same government, conquering that civ). So, everybody, seems like we've got our level chosen... emporer. How does that sound to everyone?

about DocT stealing everyone from this game... :aargh: Should have seen it coming

Emperor sounds scary, but im a good soldier... i'll follow my leaders :suicide: even if it does mean questions before each turn!!!!

Yes, but three is too much. Not a sign-up. But I'm willing to get you a start.

Greebley, AWE with a MIL Civ is quite doable...and I don't think this variant will work without MIL as well. Emperor is the best level; for RaR, the real default AI level is Monarch (not in the settings, the level the AI starts doing well).

Much thanks Doc, now that 1.01 is out we can begin as soon as team is ready (just two more players). So far I think the best choices for our game are either Siam (AGR/SEA, 4.1.1 sword unit) or Ethiopia (IND/REL, strong Heavy Cav unit). Ethiopia is my pick personally, but what does the rest of the team say?

Actually, after reviewing it over with my "unofficial" war advisor, he has brought it to my attention that a MIL trait in this game will be imparative. I wasn't sure of all of its attributes for RaR, but I think Inca is the way to go. Their MIL/IND traits will work very well for us in the beginning, where we'll need to start creating an early infrastructure that can support us from attacks made by our opponents. The Inti Warrior (their UU) also seems to be quite useful its enslaving capabilities, ignoring of hills and mountains movement (!), and its extra move point. So I'm now leaning towards what you're saying Greebley, hope you have no objections :D.

BTW, I think I was able to get ahold of another player for our game, JUST ONE MORE SPOT OPEN!!!(?)

F**K'N AY! Well done comrade, only one more to go... hopefully you all have taken care to download 1.01... right? (you might as well reply to this by saying what experience you have w/ DyP/RaR at all, just so I can stay alert)

The Incans sound fine to me. Those inti warriors look quite useful indeed. By the way, according to my civilopedia they even have the blitz ability, is that true? Anyway, good to see that we're almost ready to go. Can't wait to start this one.

I only played the beginning part of RaR. They are similar, so DyP experience will help with RaR. We just have to keep our eye open for changes.

Inca sounds like a good civ to play for this Variant.

Knappagh1,
Definitely, feel free to ask any question you have. Even in the middle of a turn it is fine to stop to ask. (I do this myself when I hit some major turning point in a game).

I also posted about this game in the RaR beta forum; both to see if we could find another player and so anyone interested knows about the game.

Perfect Greebley, so I'm hoping we can start this up by Thursday or Friday. It seems our civ is definetly going to be Inca... and now the difficulty. Everybody peachy with emporer, or are we having second thoughts?
