Dan Quayle

The rating don't come from aggressiveness. It comes mostly from the year when you win, but also from wonders, land-area, population and techs. But in the start of my Civ-career, I thought the score came from aggressiveness. If you won this game 2040 AD, or something near that, it's not so weird that you got the leadership rating, Dan Quayle. :D

It was 1960 and I had a huge number of Wonders, and had never fought a single battle. Only declared war once, and that was about five turns before winning (to get Isabella happy enough to vote for me).

Vanilla Civ, btw. I plan to spend about 40-60 hours on vanilla, get the basics, then move onto Warlords.

Again, It takes into account your difficulty and date of completion. I have won diplomacy with high scores before, even when not playing aggressively. The fact that you got DQ on Chieftan in 1960 is not very unusual. The ratings do not take into account how many times you warred, but it does take into your account your pop and your land area.

Also, unless you have a Mac, I suggest you just get BtS, skipping warlords entirely. If you don't have Warlords or BtS, get Complete, as it includes both of those in addition to Colonization.

No, no, no...

"Moron"

Much better! :D

Actually, I prefer "Tomatoe" since it characterizes his most infamous misspelling, which took place in front of a bunch of grade-schoolers, and that even they could tell he was a moron.

Difficulty is a significant factor in determining your rating. At Noble, you need a score of 15,000 to get Augustus Caesar. On Settler, you would need a 24,000 to get the same rating of Augustus Caesar. Playing on Deity, you would only need a mere 7,500 to be ranked as Augustus Caesar.

If you want to change it so that the game will see all difficulties equally, change the elements "SCORE_HANDICAP_PERCENT_OFFSET" and SCORE_HANDICAP_PERCENT_PER" to 0. This would set it as if it was on Noble for purposes of determining Normalized score and rating.
