I would like to thank Takhisis for presenting an image from the Japanese Manga known in the far-away part of Asia as "Uzumaki", and which is translated to English as "Vortex".

I have a feeling i will be very interested in this Japanese work :)

-Has anyone else read this? (there is even a Japanese movie out based on the manga, but i read it is not considered that good, whereas the manga itself seems to have gained widespread and contagious fame).

I always found the Charybdis to have been one of the most scary beings in the Odyssey, and she was a Vortex as well.

I found the movie quite interesting, but only watchable due to that.

I never knew there was a manga, but it looks like it does everything right the film did wrong. Jolly that image makes me salivate.

Some Japanese horror is really of a distinct and particularly cruel psychological quality. A spiral (and also a vortex) is a very powerful symbol for many mental phenomena, and often used to allude to the deterioration of mental formations which secure one's relative peace and calmness.
