Hi, and welcome to the seventh dark theme poll :)
The legions of dark beasts brought from the isles of the exiled, in the furthest domains of our empire, will be thrown in the arena so as to fight just for you.

This time again there is only one story, on which i am working on. It is about a pianist who is living in a small hotel, and gives concerts in the living room from time to time. He wants to be recognised ass a musician so as to move to a real concert hall, but there are various difficulties with that. The most obvious one is Jacob, a black monkey, who is present in the concerts, and makes the pianist nervous. This has the effect that the pianist has developed a very complicated way of trying to not be so influenced by Jacob, but this seems to have again caused problems in his ability to be as good in travelling inside the musical pieces as he could be.

Jacob, however, presents more problems than just that. As the story evolves it is revealed that Jacob does not accept the pianist as his master, but instead is a relic of an older master, who in a way is a dark self of the pianist. An older order of things, best forgotten, parades in the very small bedroom of the hotel where the pianist and the animal are sleeping, and in order to just avoid seing it again the pianist allows Jacob to just influence him as a monkey, in the living room.

Here is a part of it: "Sometimes, as i have returned back to the room, after a concert in the living-room of the small hotel, and as i have already opened the door so as to allow Jacob to enter inside, i sit on the steps infront of the door, and resting my hands on top of my legs, or passing them below them so as to unite them and press by nearing one to the other also my legs onto each other inside that tight siege of the hands, i look for a bit, tired, the steps which continue to go down to the lower floors, covered by the red carpet. The piano in the living room of the hotel will remain silent until the next concert, which in all probability will take place in the next night, and now even the large candelier in that living room may have been unlit, unless in the continuation of the night enough clients have gathered so that the ability has been given that they can start a game of cards. However it is the way the rest of the night will evolve has already been decided for me as i had once again risen with Jacob up to my own room, since i should now again get up from the steps, and follow him there, although i am not trully worried about his activity in that space even for a while i abandon the carefull observation of him. Definately this small black monkey can cause enough upheaval by messing with the pillows, or opening and closing the taps in the sink, but in reality i have withdrawn from the attempt to make him sensible, at least by using direct threats, which although at the time of their utterance can seemingly have some effect, soon it is revealed that really that effect was on the one hand entirely temporary, and on the other hand was not even that which i had in mind when i was thinking up the threat, looking at him angrily"

Currently the story is 20 pages long. The story i presented in the last thread has been finished, and is 40 pages.

*This is a dark thread, so pls no spam/jokes ;) *

* If anyone is interested: the story is using psychological themes; the image of the father and the split image of the child, as the negative self. The image of the father (here as the ape) is superimposed on the more ancient negative image, and therefore it can only in a way lock it up.

* The painting is "the witches Sabbath" by Goya :)
