David Hogg's Home "Swatted"

If the incident goes badly enough to make the news, then they get to see it.

If the target is someone that is currently in the media eye, like Hogg, then they will certainly get to at least hear about it, no matter how it goes. Some part of the 'thrill of the crime' is seeing something in the paper and being able to say "I did that," even if you only get to say it to yourself.
 
The people who would do something like this are usually a long way from bright enough to do it in a way they don't get caught. So I hope the thrill when the sheriff comes to lock them up is worth it.
