so when is our estimated win date?
 
172 turns from 1425AD would be 1957AD. I think we can do better than that. Use engineers to speed up culture in the newer cities. We can also pack in more cities as well.

Still in war mode? I doubt if Osman ever will declare on us with his tiny 4-city empire. Dbear rushed the MA in Babylon, and no, it is not producing armies. Perhaps its time for a team decision on war plans? Otherwise each player will just do as he pleases. I myself didn't build a single military unit in my turnset.

I'm not so sure but I hated the sight of all those obsolete units eating gpt, so I used them to spit out some settlers in improductive areas. Are you suggesting I should have kept them for MP in Communism? Forgot about that...

Dunno. Presently we have 5 years per turn but I don't know when that changes. Anybody knows where the years-per-turn schedule is documented?
 
25 turns @ 50 years 4000-2750BC
25 turns @ 40 years 2750-1750BC
40 turns @ 25 years 1750- 750BC
50 turns @ 20 years 750BC-250AD
100 turns @ 10 years 250-1250
100 turns @ 5 years 1250-1750
100 turns @ 2 years 1750-1950
100 turns @ 1 year 1950-2050

Our last turn played was 1425. It is 65 turns @ 5 years/turn to 1750.
Then 100 turns will take us to 1950. 7 turns to 1957 as indicated above.
 
stray thoughts -

I'm paranoid in addition to my other problems and always worry about not having enough military. I'm not worried about taking it off army building for a city improvement or a wonder, but babylon shouldn't skip build armies to knock out x number of whatever unit.

Once we get the cops and CE fine tuned, we'll knock decades off the win date

I still think the even corruption of communism will speed our progress. Don't overlook the power of KGB HQ to give us another monster city.

Once the railnet is up, we can dump all the old units.
 
Our military is strong compared to the Hittites, Carthaginians and Ottomans, and average compared to the Germans, Romans and Scandinavians. We're in a good shape and they're all in Democracy, so there is no immediate danger.

Lets just finish factories, coal plants and wonders in our core, we will become super producers. Then we can build a good amount of Infantry and Artillery. Armies are nice for counter-invasion so lets start building them in Babylon once Suffrage comes in.

Our railnet is already up, we can dump the old units while producing modern ones.

Communism will arrive in 2 turns, agree with the Admiral that we should revolt. BTW, I more or less counted on the AI to research Medicine so that we could trade for it. Instead the Germans also researched Communism and got it 2 turns before us :(
 
Start a prebuild for the SPHQ somewhere if we're definitely going commie

My preference is to irrigate all tiles in the non core towns and use specialists to compensate. How's everyone feel about that?

Ellipi is presently doing a prebuild, originally meant for ToE. We could use that for the SPHQ.
