Dead unit leaves behind ghost icon

Just wanted to report a minor bug where after I fought and killed a barbarian archer, it's icon stayed in place even though the unit was dead. It was confusing because I wasn't sure if the unit was still there or not and whether the bug was the icon or the unit.

So I moved my worker in range and it wasn't attacked. But the icon didn't disappear until I loaded a game.

Strange though huh

I think this must have been reported already but I didn't find the thread.

In a couple games, after I defeated an enemy unit, the dead unit's icon stayed on the tile. When my unit entered the tile, its icon would overlap the dead one, but the icon border (the outer ring of the icon) would still show the colour of the enemy civ. Even when my unit leaves the tile, the ghost icon remains, it even shows the dead unit's tooltip on hover (without hitpoints).

I haven't found a way to reliably reproduce this, unfortunately.

I made a save but reloading fixes this, so ther save isn't worth much. If anyone is wiser than me and manages to snap a screenshot, that would be great (in case this is not well documented already).

I still see this problem time to time. Anyone know a way to fix it without reloading? I also see incorrect tile yields sometimes, and "Ghost Cities" moving around with me on the map as I scroll. Maybe their are certain graphics settings that will force refreshes faster?

There is a problem (maybe related) that shows the unit in one tile and the description in another tile for the same unit.

This may be recoverable by doing multiple local file varifications under steam. There may be a corrupted file that is causing the issue.
