Deal AI Development

this is a really hard one to balance so honestly i'm just happy to go with the flow of what everyone else thinks is best on this one.

for me, if an AI is offering too little gold in return for a resource/luxury they want I'll just reject their offer, i'd rather just give it away for free to an ally/friend that i like. if i'm making 100 GPT then the 2GPT denmark is offering for my iron isn't really worth it when i can just give the iron to my friend the dutch and bolster his military. so honestly i rarely ever even trade resources/luxuries for gold as AI is way too stingey with it.

but i know on the flip side if they offered too much it'd create too much of an advantage for human players which i think would be worse. so i'm just happy to go with what everyone else thinks is best.

one thing i'll say though is AI seems to be better at trading, in my current game i'm trading luxury4luxury and resource4resource a lot more than i used to. before AI would send ridiculous trade offers but would reject offers that made sense.
if an AI really wants/needs a luxury or resource off you it makes sense (to me at least) that they'd be willing to trade for whichever luxury/resource they have in surplus

This could be a map of all of space and it wouldn't be worth this much:

I've seen much higher values than that.

Maybe they pay like per unrevealed tile? IDK every AI I know usually has a caravel going around, and the only real benefit to World Map is revealing any missing natural wonders.
The polar regions of the other continent tend to stay unexplored for AI, even in lategame (until Satellites). Unlike the human they won't send a Zeppelin to explore the poles.

Bringing back this thread to say, one thing I find annoying that I'm not even sure is intentional is the AI trying to renew gifts as regular deals.
So for example an AI will give me a gift, then when it runs out it asks to renew the deal, but says "this deal has faded in our eyes"... like of course it has, it was a gift.
Actually... This makes sense. They've given you something for free but now they're asking if you have become dependent on it, and request funds.

325 GPT for 2 votes on a sphere of influence....that's just too steep.

If this was to protect against me getting sanctioned or something I could Maaaaybe see it, but for a sphere....no way. This is my vassal who gave me a DoF, so I must be doing something right.

Or I can get him to vote against a Russian sphere for 59 GPT.... still high but at least this is on the table for consideration.

Not so sure because sometimes I refuse and they just give it as a gift again. But you could be right.
I'm not sure if I'm "right" but I do like the realistic flair. But the question is did the AI actually do a set of commands that:

-Calculated whether or not they wanted to damage your friendship by not giving you the resource for free
-Attempted to see if you would pay for it instead.
-Then calculated it was in their best interest to try to bribe you into more friendship again

Well THAT I don't know lol

Well, I'd prefer they ask for a certain value like this to a simple Impossible. It's probably Impossible in previous versions.

So Venice just declared on me due to a bribed war. Venice is not going to take any of my territory lets be honest, and immediately lost 7 TRs that were going to me.

Unless Venice is getting a tech or something, I cannot see them going to war like being worth it. After all, our diplomatic relations are pretty good as well.

UPDATE: Ok Venice is more formidable than I thought it was, and is making a good threat on my city, so the bribe war makes more sense.
