I am an experienced deity player and won a lot of deity games. By reading a lot about the peace-loving AI after BNW I started the first BNW game without paying much attention to my military. This was a mistake. I was attacked by Sweden and soon lost my capital. I put my save in case someone want to avenge me ;). (I'm going to do it also with less peaceful approach :)).

I kind of like how the AI tries stuff other then murder to win now. I just wish they were better at victory conditions other then science and murder.

I've been playing on immortal and when I buy all the City states due to a very strong economy the AI seems to just give up on diplomatic victory and throw a fit at me and it builds culture wonders but I'm not sure it knows what trades and a theme bonus mean.

I should not easily beat AI venice in a bidding war for city states.

In BNW when near to Assyria, Rome, Nap, Monty, Alex, Zulu, Oda and Sweden you should play like GK military-wise.

I learned this the hard way too. Oda+Assyria sammich, I got my butt handed to me.

Maybe a freak coincidence but every time I've played as Morroco, AIs seem prone to earlier aggression. Even Portugal has DoWed me :\

Makes me wonder if trade route potential of a city plays into AI coveting, and if they don't subtract modifications from UAs/Policies/East India Company in order to evaluate the strength of trade from the city as if they were in control of it.

I played 1 game recently with Morocco as my neighbour, and that game was a world war from turn 1. Hmm...

Situational for sure.

Just now finished a Diplo victory with Morocco, ending it around turn 250 on Quick settings.

6,000 years of peace and prosperity. Not a single DoW from anybody. The hardest thing I had to decide was what victory to go for.

I know it will probably NEVER happen again, but it was amazing while it lasted :D

They are peaceful because we bribe our neighbors into wars. The AI almost never DoWs on their own if they're already involved in a war.

Genghis Khan tend to attack me really quickly, but if he fail, his economy crash you may invade him really easy.

early deity rushes are much more brutal and some of them are nearly impossible to defend directly.

So nothing new since G&K :)

hmm, same here. Altho, my closest neighbors were Shaka, Askia and Oda, so no surprises there. They were all "friendly" until around turn 80, when Shaka attacked, and Oda some 15-20 turns later.

Askia was probably the funniest\most annoying, because he started to circle around my cities with HUGE force, and keep circling around them for the next 60-70 turns, not leaving, not attacking.

As you said, neighbors and terrain. My 250 turn diplo victory with Morocco ended with me never getting DoW'ed

I am getting a run of bad luck with certain civs, namely shoshone and Japan and Aztecs that love to overrun. I guess my complaints about passive civs (on immortal) leaves much to be desired.

What I have to re-learn is how to keep up on the bottom techs while bee lining philo - education - acoustics - arch if I want to play a cultural game. Or make sure I am fairly isolated.

I would ask how one could keep up militarily while going top techs but as someone said, play like G&K and get high bpt.

2 cities, 1 size 2 at turn 70

OBVIOUSLY ai kills u if its that easy

You do note he had at least 3 cities, right? You can see the captured Marrakech, Fes, and another unidentified city to the south-west on the minimap.

Well, on second screenshot I just lost my capital, which was slightly bigger :) (and had NC)

Maybe it's just my luck, but when I want to play as warmonger, I get Ghandi, Theodora and rest of the peaceful neighbors, but if I decide to play peacefully I always end up being surrounded by warmongers.:mad:

Start position is hard, but 8 science from capital? No library?

As I wrote above on second screenshot I just lost my original capital (Marrakech) with library, National College, etc :(
