Usually in a Minecraft world.
I was setting up a new game just a little while ago when I realized that though I have played on all three types of land forms ( Pangaea, Continents, & Archipelago) I have never played anything but, Normal, Temperate, 4 Billion year old maps. I've been playing Civ 3 & PTW for about 3 years now. What I'm wondering is, am I alone in this, has anyone else stuck to the default settings?

If not, What are your thoughts on the deferent Climate, Temp, & Ages?

I usually do normal, wet, 4b myself. 4b give a diverse range of terrain, wet gives more rivers (and jungles and marshes, too.) and normal just cuz.

Sometimes I'll play 3b, sometimes 5b. But usually 4b.

It would be interesting to see what the other players faves are.

Usually continents, wet, temperate and 5b. In addition to what Turner said (wet = more rivers, jungles and marshes) I think the wet condition will give you more forests too. It is a vegetation thing. A 5b planet gives less hills and mountains; resources (iron, coal and U) will be more scarce (a fight for the resources :) ).

But of course - all random is more exciting!
