Delegation Gifts suggestions list

Of course China should give you a panda. Is that not already the delegation's gift? If not, they really missed a trick, given how important panda diplomacy is to this day.

I don't think Qin Shi Huang giving a panda would make sense, since the ancient Chinese didn't really care about pandas back then. Some even killed and ate them, as a panda bone was found in an ancient tomb.

What ARE china's delegation gifts? The first things that come to mind are things like silk, tea, jade, etc. but since those are actual luxuries, that wouldn't make sense.

According to @Guandao's list of delegation gifts that are already in-game, he sends you tea, spices and silk.

Oh, and Japanese delegation can offer you Ramen.

Talking about possible Japanese gifts, maybe they can bring Bonsai with them.

And the Spanish delegation can offer you Turrón.

The Tapioca is a typical dish from the Brazilian northeast, it is of indigenous Tupi origin. Its use has spread to other countries in South America. It could be a gift from the Brazilian delegation. Besides Pamonha, another Brazilian dish of indigenous Tupi origin, very common during the June festivals.

Maniçoba is very common in the northern region (also, like most of the dishes of this region, of indigenous origin), is very consumed during the Ciro de Nazaré, one of the largest religious celebrations in the country.

Beijinho and Paçoca are two sweet in Brazil. Paçoca is another Brazilian dish of Tupi indigenous origin.

Other gifts can be: Bauru (very popular Brazilian sandwich); Caipirinha (drink made with cachaça); Vatapá (it is a typical dish of the Afro-Brazilian cuisine) and Moqueca.

I was thinking about an Aramaic/Syrian civ led by Zenobia: pistachios, almonds, capers, dates, figs, damask, and Damascus steel would all be possibilities. Pretty much all of the foods would work well for Israel/Judah, as well; in particular, Israel/Judah/Canaan was a major exporter of pistachios and almonds, which the Amarna letters record as tribute from the region.

Australia's trade delegation could offer macadamia nuts, though already Curtin offers your civ's trade delegation to visit one of his cities to eat them. Yet, Gorgo's trade delegation offers black soup and offers your civ's trade delegation to visit one of her cities to drink it.

The ***oo clocks are German, not Swiss. They've never been from here. We import them from Germany for tourists who believe too much in Orson Welles or are to greedy to buy a Swiss clock or watch.
They could be replaced by the world famous knives or an alphorn. Or unbelievably popular nail clips if you are playing as an asian leader... :P

Explain the nail clips. And what do they have to do with Asian people?

I'm sorry, I made a mistake: I meant nail clippers.
When I travel for vacation I buy some things from here as presents for some local people: pocket knives or some 'shiny' things for children. I once asked in a tourist store what the most popular item is. They answered that for customers from Asia, it's nail clippers. They didn't know why. And me neither. Do you?

I'm not sure about that. Maybe Asians (If we are speaking of East Asians in particular) like to cut their nails? And this was in a Swiss tourist store?

Yes. And now I won't derail the thread anymore. Sorry.

Japan can offer some shiokara and natto.

Egypt can offer some fesikh.

China can offer grass jelly. Indonesia can offer cincau, which is essentially green grass jelly.

Macedon can offer pivtija (similar to aspic). Korea can offer Jokpyeon. Various European civs can offer aspic.

Sumeria can offer felt.
