Democracy or Communism?

I have posted before preaching Democracy to the seven seas. I now must support communism. No science, 5,094,838 billion gold, and several thousand free troops suddenly seem more appealing than all of my citizens saying 'all we're sayin' is give peace a chance' while the enemy won't respond and take all of my cities.

Communism is the government once you're on your way to domination, as the reduction in overall corruption for a huge empire can more than make up for the loss in trade compared to Republic and Democracy.

Being a dirty warmonger, I almost never use Democracy. Republic has all of the benefits, without forcing you into pacifism, and requires one fewer dastardly nine turn anarchy.
