Department of Turnplay

Just a reminder... We started our GA on turn 88 and are now on 102. We only have 6 more turns of GA w/ 8 turns left on building the GLib. The GLib will not come in on turn 111 but more like 113.

And I like your reference to the FC Axis as the "Axis of Dirtbags"

Regarding Hwachas I could not find any evidence that they can bombard from sea. As I understand it they have an increased bombarding value and lethal bombardment. Haven't played them for a while though. I will see whether I can setup a test game to get some validation.

Lethal bombardment is the key - no reason not to wake them on a galley and fire. But a test to check would be good.

Too funny not to share....

We have some great gamer in our ranks but for now it looks like our empire's fate is in the hands of Idiots like :crazyeye: and :crazyeye: .

I'm the one of the right.

Thats the power of anarchy! Take a bunch of people who don't have much of a clue, put them together and with a bit of luck they cover each others backs and come up smelling of roses

Or crash and burn horribly - to the amusement of all around them

Hey, from Babe's description I put together this detailed topographic cartographic masterpiece.

Behold, JB's World Map!!!!

Very nice, jb. We will put it as a poster in Cohan's. Cheers. Leaving for another

Played a quick game on settler as Korea. It seems Hwachas cannot bombard from sea. Save is attached for everybody to have a look and correct me if I am wrong.:)

You are God among insects.

Thanks more than a little bit for the research.

You are hereby promoted to Director of Foreign Dirtbag Technology and are now in charge of Hanger 18 at Wright Patterson AFB and the little green men that live there.

Im back and trying to catch up on some good discussion. The save is in, what all is to be done?

cleaning up the mess after me for starters .
we're building a road net along the coast, some workers should clean up the last settling spots in the SW swamp, worker piles are clearing the core jungle where a new city is found and set on rax.
The consensus seem to be building military so raxing core is the order of the day. I've tried to produce workers on growth. where that is hard i've started cats.
Babes want ETA on Mono and this is the big issue. We can do it in 6 while in GA. I'm reluctant to throw in beakers while going for GLib, but...
Whomper was eager for us to do it asap so we both can go full speed to astro. Relying on GLib is a gamble that Babes seem hesitant to do.
We have 12hrs left so lets discuss some more.

Well if we research Mono then I think we switch the prebuild to Leos. How is Babe getting Feudalism? Wouldnt it make more sense for us to do Feudalism and them Engineering?

Edit: I will open the save and post pics for better discussion.

Looking at the save, 2 workers added to Sugar would be good to add some more shields there (2 warriors could be moved over from paradise city for the happiness).

-We have 4 turns left on the GA.
-We are without horses? Where are they on offshore islands?
-We Built This City would be the best nonwonderbuilding candidate for a library.
-If we built Leos we could have some 30-40 MDI immediately with stockpiled gold.
-A coastal block of the corrupt regions, leaving only small spots to land by our core or somewhere convenient would require ~60 units. Only protecting our core would require just 20 and give us time to react to a landing.
-We can have all 45 temples completed in 5 turns when we get Feudie.

-How do we calculate post GA happiness so no cities riot? We can probably do Feudalism in 4 turns with some more specialists but I dont know if the golden age bug will hit on turn 4 or 5? Do we get 4 full turns of science?
-In the west it looks like the workers will be done clearing jungle/wetlands in 4 turns apiece.

Building GLib will keep Saber in the dark. They are gambling big time and are way behind in techs. Whomp says they don't even have Lit so they are building a mammoth stack o gold by the looks of it. Getting GLib for denial would be nice even if we do our own science. Free/Council have gone lower tire and GLib would shoot us a long way towards Cav's. Whomp believes Council is prebuilding Leos with ToA. The workshop is nice but my guess is GLib will get a better payoff....my guess that was.

The good thing is we have two prebuilds that are pretty equal in strength. I propose we send 10 rushed galleys out, 5 towards FREE and 5 towards Council. This is roughly the same cost as mono, and we just leave the research off for now. Since Knights require Mono we will surely get Mono soon dont you think? My worry is that the others will stop trading and we wont get much useful after Invention, and maybe gunpowder.

Edit: Well it seems after talking a bit to Whomp that we can trade contacts already so we dont need to suicide any more galleys. Just maybe a lookout or two.

Let's press on with the 100K strategy. We are committed to it now. I would start whipping as soon as we are able. It is critical that we get our coastline guarded and some blocking galleys out now.

Do we want MDIs ? I would like to see at least some gallics enabling us to be more flexible on any foreign ships approaching our shores. We can react much better and block any landings which is even better than fighting the guys. These are the only fastmovers we can build as we have no horses. Maybe we can ask the BABES whether they have some fourfooters to spare with us ??????

No I think we would rather have gallics but I dont see us having much of a choice. We cant build em past golden age, and we cant delay Feudalism (need that whip).

Not having fast movers effectively halves our Island Defense Troop Strength Rating.
