At my uni some people have had their laptops stolen and broken...thats the downside...Get a desktop ...i'd like to see someone try and run off with my full tower case and 17" trinitron monitor.

Something one guy did in a functional programming class...
He brought his laptop to class and would work on the code in good ol' Hugs. It was rather handy, since we could test our algorithms in the middle of class.

I like desktops better (cheaper and more powerful) but laptops are good fo constantly moving around campus.
