DESTROYING Cd-r

how about letting a small kid play frisbee with a dog? That would be fun!

Seriously man, place the CD on the middle OF A BUSY HIGHWAY and let be ran over by vehicles...

If you're a rich man, pull your gun out, place the CD as the target and FIRE!!!

Magnetize it with one of those huge magnets they use to lift cars. :p

Go for the top of the CD, not the base if scratching is the way to go. The top is closer to where the data is, and less protected.

At least, that is what I was told.

If you're a rich man?

Anyway... just lay it on some gravel and drive a car over it (tire going over the CD ;) ), that'll do it. Some of the better shredders will do a fine job too. And for the really practical-yet-thorough kind of data destruction, take the pieces and drop them in trash cans all over town.

If you become really good, you could go to the Olympics.

to all the guys who said "Fire"

Burning CD won't hurt it much, as long as the CD is not melted. Melting it is other thing, but with the CDs I use it's hard. You need really big fire to do this. However, the other way is just to let it in the sun when the temperatures are up in the 30s (90s if we're talking about Fahrenheit)...

PS: About the fire - I have 2 or 3 music albums, that were thrown in a fire, and they are still playable.
