dialogue box text issue

Sorry if this has been resolved, but couldnt find a thread. When I attempt to talk to AI Civ the dialogue text is below the box and some test off the screen.

i did download a new version of WinDVD before getting back to my current game- its ok i'm about to get my a** kicked by French. I tried reinstalling civ3 and conquests even patch 1.22 but text issue still there even with a new game.

Any help would be appreciated

thank for the link ddnt know what to look for specific font or just text i have deleted WinDVD

The reason this happens is that another program, like WinDVD, installs fonts over the ones already present on the system on the assumption that they do not exist. When this happens, a reinstall of Civ is usually the best course of action, but if uninstalling WinDVD does it, then no sweat.
