hey im new here and i wanted to know if the goverment i created called dictatorship is stupid or not im 12 so i dont really know if dictatorship is the same thing as any other goverment. i made dictatorship by far the best goverment but since i wanted to make it so i wasent totaly cheating i made one really bad thing about it but i forgot but since dictatorships have strong armys and still have money for every thing else so i made war units free.

Dose any one think this is a good idea and if this is the same thing as another goverment listed then please tell me.

Dictatorships don't necessarily have strong armies... nor do they have the money to pay for them. However, Dictatorships oppress the population, so the tile penalty should be in effect...

But...

What I suggest sounds like a combination of Anarchy and Despotism.

thanks i just always thought of a dictator some one who rules his land or country with power.

but.... thats not nesicarily true.

any ways dose any body have ideas around what the stats should be for this. i made dictatorship to support powerfull armies a good for war goverment im just trying to ballence it out so theres a down side. if i wanted to i could make a goverment called god mode all stats are max and you have best of the best but even that has a downside CHEATING CHEATING CHEATING CHEATING lol.

if anybody has some ideas i can use for ballencing out the power to support large armies at no cost at all and some city growth stuff or something like that enhanced then please post them.

And oh yea i allso would like to know if there should be a tech needed for this but hey its a dictatorship it should be a default choice and thats what i did thats why i use it alot.

but of course to make it so im not cheating i must ballence out this mod to the game

Isn't Despotism basically the same thing as a Dictatorship?

not sure im 12 and dont know much about some of the goverments thats why im asking if
Dictatorship is the same thing as any thing else and heres something i want to know can the civ 3 AI use my Dictatorship and im wondering if the AI actually ever changes goverment

The AI changes government to the one it predicts will give them to most gold.

Yes, a Despotist government is a dictatorship. Monarchies and Fascist governments can also be considered dictatorships: a government in which one person holds the power of making decisions for the state and whose power is absolute. Therefore, there isn't really a reason to create a separate "dictatorship" government since it is represented in the many forms of government in the game.

Some definitions of govt ... :D

Despotism/Dictatorship/Tyranny == absolute single power

Monarchy == limited to absolute, single power
(elected[lifelong]/hereditary; royal/religious authority)

Dynasty == hereditary Monarchy

Aristocracy == hereditary ruling class
(aka nobility)

Feudalism == Lords and Vassals/Tenants
(relationship bound by contract to pay homage/moneys/military service on demand)

Republic == single [appointed/elected] authority responsible to the people

Socialism == central authority for economic planning

Communism == collective ownership [single party authority]

Fascism == nationalistic, corporatised, suppressive, totalitarian regime

Liberalism == absolute and unrestrained freedom of thought, religion, conscience, creed, speech, press, and politics

Capitalism == private/corporate ownership; competition in a free market

Democracy == elected representative for the people

Rise and Rule has about 11 governments, and a whole lot of other things, too...
