And for good reasons - Germany was under Fascism for a total of 12 years. Italy for 21, the Northern half for 23. Spain for 43. US for...
So why should Germany of all nations have Fascism as preferred Gov?
Popular opinion isn't fact. People tend to think Fascism=Totalitarianism=Naziism, which is entirely untrue. The first is a form of government, the second a more general 'style' of government and the last an ideology. Most people don't realize that the US is quite Fascist and has been since the concept of Fascism has rose (and before that too, just without the specific name).
I think Facism would fit the German stereotype quite well, true. But it would not be politically correct. The Panzer UU really cries for an Adolf Hitler leaderhead.
But even if the German favored gov is Republic, they usually end up in Facism... at least nearly all civs in my war-torn games do.
I wish that there would be a more intelligent selection routine for the government. Almost all civs become facist in case of prolonged wars, even if they would do by far better in Communism.
Yeah. Fascism was yet another of those C3C additions that tends to screw the AI. When Commieness was bad, the AI loved it. Commieness got good, and the AI prefers Fascism. Go figure.
