Personally, I didn't, since I didn't get Vanilla Civ until about 3 months before Conquests came out.

Yes, and I don't regret it one bit. I had a year of play that I wouldn't have had otherwise. If I got Civ3 that soon before Conquests, I might have done the same as you. (Then again I might not have. I have a serious issue with wanting things now at any cost. Actually, I probably would have just to get the copy with my stuff on it.)

No I didn't. In fact, up and until last week I was still happily chugging along with vanilla (since 2001). PTW didn't really capture my imagination but Conquests has.

Yes I did, for one, I had no idea there would be a second expansion and, like warpstorm, I don't regret it one bit. It made modding a lot easier and the new civs and other features were great, although they are VERY insignificant to the changes made by Conquests.

I did, and somehow I couldn't help but feel ripped off when Conquests was released, even if I had a year of play with PTW.

Alexnm, if Conquests never came out would you have felt ripped off?

Another yes :) If I didn't get PTW, I wouldn't have come across CfC. I also probably wouldn't have known about Conquests...
I too don't feel ripped off, cause I had 9 months of joy ;)

I did.
And I hope nobody bought Ptw AFTER Conquests :mischief:

No, I got it with C3C

I don't understand how anyone could feel 'ripped off' by PTW. Are you upset that Conquests included PTW? Or that PTW wasn't as good as Conquests? My answer to the first problem is simple: If you bought PTW when it first came out (like I did), then you had a year's worth of gaming experiences that you wouldn't have had simply waiting for Conquests. And my answer to the second problem is simpler still: Conquests was better because it came later and built on PTW, just as PTW was better than the initial Civ III release because it came later and built on Civ III.

If you felt ripped off because they keep releasing new expansion packs that you have to spend money on, well, welcome to the world of PC gaming. If you want to avoid expansion packs, stick to the consoles. If you want to have all the Civ you can have for as little money as possible, then you'd better not buy Civ IV when it comes out. Because there will be expansion packs for that, as well. But I'm sure they'll follow tradition and release a complete all-packs-included version of Civ IV once Civ V is near completion, and you can go buy Civ IV then. Meanwhile, the rest of us will buy the stuff when it comes out, and we'll have lots of fun playing the game and discussing its merits and flaws here for at least three or four years, which means it will be money well-spent for us.

I even didn't buy Conquests, I ot it as a birthday present...
I have a slow connection at home, so multiplayer is (sadly) nothing for me, so I didn't buy PTW.

I bought PTW and I didn't know that conquest would include it and I didnt know when conquests was coming. So i managed to finish one game in PTW before I got conquests. Even though I do not feel ripped off because I get a lot of scenarios from PTW that isn't in conquests.

I got CivIII Gold this past Christmas. I knew nothing about ptw or conquests. I actually had asked for both CivII and III. I had played CivII a while back and lost the disk but still had the scenarios CD. When I got CivIII Gold, I thought cool. That led me to searching online and finding this place and have manying enjoyable hours playing the game. For some more fun and to play conquests gotm, I got conquests a couple of weeks ago. If I had gotten CivII, I probably wouldn't be typing this now when I should be working.....
