Did You Win?

I hit the mole, and I didn't win. I didn't even get another pop up ad! This is one of many strange ads on CFC lately...

To prove it, I took this after I hit the mole:

Doesnt I popup ad pop up if you click the banner image no matter what? Maybe if you really do hit the mole, you win by not having to dig through a hundred pop ups!

It's true. You click on no matter what. I missed completely and got onto the site.

It's a weirdo thing. Some sites make you do some weird thing before you win something.

Its like that with all banner ads. Find any other game sites, and theyll pop up the same popups no matter what. Thats how banner ads work.

Not always true. If the coding is done properly they will only pop up when you hit it. I have seen some sites with fishing games you can play

As for the mole..I have noticed that here and at apolyton it hasn't even been popping up anything!!!!!

I hit a mole, then a popup shows a certificate and tells me I won 10 free samples (but it doesn't mention what kind of samples are they...). To claim the free samples, I have to submit my email address, which I didn't do. Since I don't know what's the big idea there, I closed the popup, then another two or three came up...

So, I didn't actually win.

I just love those ads. Good for comic relief. There's even ads like "YOU ARE THE 3,643,129,053,123rd VISITOR TO THIS SITE!!!!!!", staring at you, blinking...

Those ads and their various spawn are continuing. I've seen "Hit the bullseye!" "Hit the blue duck!" and "Hit the Monkey!". Good lord, its an invasion!

They should make it "Hit the Impi!" with an Impi among a bunch of Shaka's heads. That will make it a more attractive game and get more clicks. This way, everybody is a guaranteed winner.

But who would make that? Thunderfall? It wouldnt really make sense to anyone who doesnt play civ3.

Of course not TF. Whoever puts the banner there makes it, since the banner shows on a civ site. A civ-friendly ad here can surely lure more clicks. We can hit a monkey, a duck, a bulleye, so why not an Impi?

Im not sure that would work that well. People surfing the web will see "HIT THE IMPI" and go "WTH is this? Has the banner ad industry completely gone beserk?!? " Of course, maybe not in such a sophisticated vocabulary, but you get the picture.

Hmmm, probably we took my Impi joke too far already. It doesn't matter you hit a duck or a mole, you're taken to the same popup ad anyway. Since they're doing business, being somewhat "local-friendly" just can't be a bad thing.
