diff between civ3 and civ3gold?

While downloading Civ3 demos (until I can finally get the actual game) I noticed that Civ3 gold is twice the size of Civ3. Is Civ3 gold the original Civ3 and Conquerers combined?

If I remember correctly Civ3 Gold is Civ3 and Play the World combined. Conquests explansion on the anotherhand contains all content of the PTW.

Yea, Gold is CivIII and PTW. If you want Conquests you gotta shell out the dough for it($10-$15), but you get PTW included.
