Hey edge,

Your story is very familiar.I have the same problem as you, but I started focusing more on trade and intelligent conquest and I am getting some progress.

This is indeed as CornMaster mentioned, not allowed! Please just send in your first game.

Just imagine, do you think it'd be fair if you knew the whole map from the start?

Another Resurrected thread, FYI.

Since some discussion has come up about launching Spaceships before 1850, this thread is being resurrected... one of my very first Civ Fanatics posts warned of the SS "problem", and also provided the simple answer about how to correct the bug in the GOTM scoring system.

There is nothing wrong with the Civ II program, or a fast/slow Spaceship. The entire issue is simply in how the GOTM score is computed... Using the game year for launches prior to 1850 gives a huge advantage to the launcher of a SS. Until the last GOTM, the primary recipient of the "Spaceship Bonus" was Shadowdale, though anyone who lanuched before 1850 would get some sort of bonus.

As I've explained in other posts, this is not a SLOW SS issue, it is an issue of ANY SS launched before 1850.

The solution? Simple. Fix the defect in the scoring system, LOL: use the game turn directly. All "problems" solved, and pre-1850 SS advantages are history ;)
