I would call for the players to consider a direct beeline through Assembly Line and Fascism. Netting a Free General more (for military academy in Cordoba, to fit with West Point) and allow Edorai to build the Pentagon after the Babylonian War. the UB Shale Plant, Infantry, Factories and so on are other big reasons to head this route.
 
We are only 4 combat xps from a great general and I like the idea of boosting up our Naval Factoery. However we do not have Military Science yet (to allow military academy) so we'd have to add that in to the tech-path. I have an alternate path that doesn't include fascism since we have that GG coming anyway.

Corporation (prerequisite for Assembly Line)- Wall Street national wonder, + 1 trade routes in all cities.
Assembly Line- UB (Shale Plant)factory, infantry units, Pentagon WW
Railroad (leads to Combustion)- Railroads will benefit production in every city, draticly increase land movement, Machine Gunners
Combustion- Public Transportation will help offset unhealthiness from factories, Allow us to build oil wells, Transports and Destroyers

Churchhill has military science but will not trade yet. It should be a tech we trade for and not research. We can sit the GG in Cordoba then build the military acedemy there once we get MS.
 
The King sides with Lord Civius' analogy. Especially with the +1 trade routes, production benefits from railroads, and the Combustion tech. Let's move our nation forward into the industrious economy that awaits us.

Are we limited to 2 National Wonders per city like the vanilla game?

If so we are talking about building Maoi Statues in Cordoba, that won't allow both Military Academy and West Point as well.
 
yes, Military Academy is not a national wonder, its just a GP academy.

I still think Fascism is a valid path, several builds, wonders, unit and police state.
 
Fascism can wait IMO, there are far more pressing issues than paratroopers, mt rushmore and police state. The extra GG would be great but not worth putting it ahead of the ones I listed.

Please do not selectively omit a Free Great General and the Infantry Unit with 20 strength. I do not like that selective argumentation.
 
It is my opinion that getting Combustion is more pressing than Fascism and the GG it will spawn. We are getting one soon anyway. Please be more specific to what I said that was selective.
 
Well, its only 5 turns research for an added Great General, I think we should do it to mark it off. I would also like to upgrade our forces directly to Infantry, not Rifleman.
 
I thought the Infantry came with Assembly Line- (UB (Shale Plant)factory, infantry units, Pentagon WW) from LC's statement.

It's a good argument, I just don't agree. You will still, however, be able to upgrade to infantry in the same amount of time under my plan. We just won't get the GG. I think you are having visions of the Great Warlord leading an Infantry Unit :ar15: . We will need a level 6 unit which is required to construct West Point (when we get Military Tradition). If this is your plan then I would be very tempted to say add Fascim:

This is our very plan! :) Add Fascism.

We are at the crossroads here, we may even consider changing government civics, so people can as well begin to figure out which faction they really belong to, existing, historical or new ones...
 
I would request to the citizens here that they wait for government changes until the Mayan Armada is defeated. Nationhood is a must right now, as New Arkadia is very lightly defended and drafting in the area is necessary for a proper defense. However, changing to Nationhood and Representation would involve 2 turns, and a two turn revolution could prove fatal to Seville.

Waiting would require a minimum of 5 turns until we can change to Representation.
 
I was thinking of Nationhood under Hereditary Rule, then research Fascism, so people can have a real choice between Kingdom, Republic or Police State... :)

We also need to know how Mayans will react after Armada is gone and the Babylonian War is over.
 
That is right, I say regardless we should put effort into an ironclad defense force to protect our mainland coast in the future.
