Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the Alt-Lock and Ctrl-Lock key combos on a WinXP Pro machine? I've tried googling it, but no luck there. I did find out how to disable about everything else, but not this.
XP can be very picky about the ALT and CTRL keys, due to security issues - for example, you simply can't fake a CTRL-ALT-DELETE sendkeys, to reduce likelihood of people being able to use send-keys brute-force password breaking. But I'm not sure about this 'lock' business...
Well, if you press Ctrl-CapsLock, then every key you hit acts as if you were holding down the Ctrl key. So C would come across as 'Ctrl-C'. Alt-Capslock would do the same thing for the alt keys. C would become 'Alt-C'.
Seems when I'm playing Civ on my laptop that I trigger this, and this particular laptop is picky about undoing it. In fact, I generally have to reboot.

Long time ago, actually. It's not really a sticky keys issue. At least, I don't think. I'll have to try that. But I know I disabled it because it kept popping up because of Civ (holding shift key down).
