Display trouble: Top and bottom cut off

I just got a new computer, and I just installed Civ IV on it. It worked fine the first time I played, but after I installed BUG, this is what happened:

The menus aren't invisible per se; they're simply cut off on the top and bottom. FYI, this occurred on the title screen as well. I figured it was just the resolution settings, but I checked and they're exactly the same as my PC's resolution. And I didn't edit them at all before or after installing BUG. Please advise.

I am going from bad to worse.

After adjusting the screen resolution in-game, it will barely even start up, and it is completely unplayable. I cannot see ANYTHING, even the startup screens. Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing.

Help!

I downloaded the latest patch. That fixed the problem.
