Displaying resources on screen

I've seen several videos and pictures showing little icons displayed on the civ map for various resources (coal, spices, etc.) but I haven't figured out what option in the game turns on that feature.

Is it only available from a specific DLC? (I just have vanilla Civ V).

Just press CTRL+R

Edit: You can also access show resources and show grid options by pressing the little round button with the hexagons on it at the lower right corner of the screen next to the minimap. Hope that helps.
