Mk, so I took apart an old keyboard to day, and now its down to the film stuff with the chip still screwed to it. Theres three ayers of the film stuff with little connecting dots, when I hook it up to my computer only the eight and nine keys get any response on MS notebook, Im wondering if somebody might know why that is.

I like to run a sink of dishwashing water and throw it in. There's no need to immerse the chip so disconnect it first and set it aside. You need to be careful not to rub off the metal printing on the plastic layers. Use more sloshing than scrubbing, except with the hard plastic bits. There's a better than 80% chance of a total rejuvenation if you are careful.

I've washed one out with soapy water. Rinse it well afterward and make sure it's been absolutely dry before plugging it into anything again.
