Professionally-produced scenarios with customized art/graphics/units, game mechanics and customized (professionally-produced) AI, maps etc:

1) Rise and fall of Rome
2) The wars of Alexander
3) Napoleon Bonaparte's conquest of Europe, including the battle at sea with the British! (Waterloo or whatever it was called)
4) The World Wars
5) The Crusades
6) The cool Charlemagne scenario from Civ4, where you get to bribe the Pope :) and fight the evil heathens, pagans and Arabs!
7) Any other cool-type scenario for example the rise of Islam and the conquest of all of north Africa, Turkey, Spain etc!
edit: 8) American wars of independence!
9) The Spanish conquest of Mexico!

etc

I'd pay big bucks for some decent scenarios, as opposed to the crappy ones added as an after-thought to most of the previous Civ expansion packs :)

Why am I so prejudiced against user-made scenarios? Um ... basically because the art work is usually (by necessity, since these fan-made mods cost nothing and are made by enthusiasts rather than professionals) 'not so good', the AI is not customized specifically for the demands of the scenario, and, well, they are just rubbish in general ... for example Dale's 'Road to War' WW2 mod - what a disappointment that was!

That's a rather Western-centric list. I myself would want to see a "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" scenario. That would be epic.

I would like to see a scenario based around Marco Polo's battle against the Aztecs at Machu Pichu (aka the Trojan War).

Let me guess, you are american, right ?
That was uncalled for. Every nation has people who don't know history. Let's not resort to silly stereotypes.

I'd pay for Warhammer 40k professional mod :)

Yes, and a version of the unification of China scenario from CivIV :D

Oh dear gawd...

Congrats OP you made me both laugh and die a little inside at the same time. Willow summed it up perfectly.

OT
Romance of the The three Kingdoms would be an excellent idea (or the sweep of the length of the history of China overall) as would the Sengoku period for Japan.

I'd like to see an american civil war as long as its expanded to the rest of North America to include the French intervention in Mexico.

That way as american you have to end the civil war before the French make an empire of themselves in the continent, as Mexico you have to battle the super power of the time, and as French you can have fun taking over everything!

For me, the benchmark for scenarios are those from Civ III: Conquests. Now there was a series of scenarios that were well-constructed, unique and incredibly enjoyable.

So far they've fallen way short of that; case in point: the free Mongol scenario. Absolute rubbish...

Yes I admit I didn't play the Civ3 scenarios much but they had/have a very good reputation.

I'd pay to see the Marine :)

I would pay to have CivRev Cleopatra ported in as a Civ5 leader.

No ... HONESTLY I would. It would more than double the amount of time I spend playing Civ5 - and Egypt would always be in my games. :D

If anybody could mod that I'd gladly pay them $5 or even $10 :D

I'm going to pretend the Waterloo statement was a joke. Please let me continue to do so. Please?

What I'd like, and pay for...
hell, put in historical scenarios for each Civ; America vs British (or Civil War), the breaking away of Siam, stuff like that. group them in groups of 3-4 each.

What'd be super cool is if that naval scenario includes a new "Great Admiral" unit, and then the British could have Admiral Wellington for that Waterloo fight with all the boats against the Spanish or whoever!! ;)

(In all seriousness, I might actually pay for scenarios like these too. At least that'd be something potentially worth downloading, rather than these silly map packs or add-on civs.)
