Not sure how this will finally work itself out. :dunno:

Do not plan to give up on dlc, however, we certainly have some things to learn in its use. Would appreciate patience as we do so. :please:
Good to hear!

I did enjoy this month's DLC GOTM but I don't think the settings were probably the best choice for the inaugural DLC game.

I am looking forward to future DLC GOTM's (as well as finishing up the remaining G&K civs).

@GOTM staff:

I suppose another DLC will be released with the patch.

Are you going to include this possible new DLC in the "DLC-Version" of TSG?

If you ask me I wouldn't include a new DLC directly into the competition. I didn't buy all the former DLC straight but waited till they were on a 75% sale. I am going to do that with the future DLC as well. Question is if the other Users act similar or not.

We ran the poll in an effort to determine what dlc most players had and to use the most popular dlc first in order to include the greatest number of players. We will be guided by that in future as well.

I also waited to get the dlc at 75% off, so I understand what you mean. :)

I see a few names on the "None - Will not get any DLC " voters list that have since bought all the DLC. so the minority is getting even smaller now.

Yeah, but that represents only those who responded. Who knows how many play and haven't registered or who do not submit regularly. Those who responded to the poll are not the only audience we have here. :)

Another interesting note. Based on the GOTM 34 discussion, it seems a lot of players who previously did not have DLC have since gotten DLC's. So I think if we redid the poll, the numbers would increase a fair amount.

I like the current format to have games alternate: one on the 1st with only vanilla + G&K and one on the 15th with all DLC.

I'm not so sure if the majority really buys a DLC straight the day it comes out. So sticking to the "all DLC" concept could exclude a lot of players from the competition. I'd say it's better to run another poll once a new DLC is out to see how many interested users actually got it.

Let me rephrase...all current DLC (been out awhile). Maybe wait 90 days before incorporating any newly released DLC. Like Schalke said, open another poll before using new DLC.

The point I was making is that it is nice to have 2 games running at a time...one with DLC and one without.

I didn't notice this until someone pointed it out. Just thought I'd post this here, in case anyone is still on the fence about the DLC-

Upgrade to Gold Edition (G&K + all DLC) for $20.00 (or, I was told, 10 euros, but I can't confirm that) http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930/ - can't direct link the upgrade, scroll down a bit on this list.

Gamefly.com also has Vanilla Civ V for $7.49 - 20% off Coupon Code "GFDFEB20" = $5.99 right now. Not sure why anyone here would need that :mischief: just thought I would share!

Thanks for pointing out the upgrade option Woodszilla. I can confirm that the euro price is 10.
