One of the greatest assets of the Civilization series has always been its music. Many classic, catchy melodies have been a recurring leitmotif throughout the franchise. I'm not sure why they haven't reused these tunes in Civ5 and 6 like they did in the first few installments of the franchise. I'm sorry to say the "Deluxe Edition" soundtrack they released didn't really cut the mustard.

More and more games are releasing remastered versions of the old soundtracks. Age of Empires 1 and 2 did this, and Heroes of Might and Magic VI included lots of remastered music from Heroes II and III.

Would you buy a CivVI DLC with remastered music tracks from classic Civ games? I would. Which tracks would you like to see make a triumphant return? Which one is your favorite? Vote in the poll for your top 5, and make sure to specify if you vote "Other" so your voice is heard.

Listen to all the different iterations of your favorite tracks below:

1) Civ1 Intro Theme/Civ4 In the Beginning...
2) Civ1 Aztec Theme/Civ2 Intro Theme/Civ2 Tenochtitlan Revealed/Civ4 Montezuma's Theme
3) Civ1 Babylon Theme/Civ2 Hammurabi's Code/Civ4 Cyrus' Theme
4) Civ1 Egypt Theme/Civ2 Harvest of the Nile/Civ4 Hatshepsut's Theme
5) Civ1 Greece Theme/Civ2 Aristotle's Pupil
6) Civ1 Rome Theme/Civ2 Augustus Rises/Civ4 Caesar's Theme
7) Civ1 India Theme/Civ2 Gautama Ponders
8) Civ1 China Theme/Civ2 The Shining Path/Civ3 Medieval Orient/Civ4 Mao's Theme
9) Civ 1 Mongol Theme/Civ2 The Mongol Horde
10) Civ3/Civ4 Greco-Roman Diplomacy/Civ4 Alexander's Theme
11) Civ3 Main Menu Music
12) Civ3 Conquests - Roman Theme
13) Civ4 Baba Yetu (Main Menu)
14) Civ 4 Al-Nadda (Warlords Main Menu)

I would also like to see them bring back the option from Civ4 that let you play your own custom music from a special folder as background music, without it overlapping when you went into the diplo screen to talk to the leaders.

I actually don't want them remastered. I like the civ 1 and civ 2 music very much with the 90's midi sounds, and I actually prefer them to the version of civ III/IV (hello, nostalgia!). Thanks form the links, listened to those again for the first time since at least 15 years.

  • Civ 3 Main Menu
  • Civ 4 Main Menu (Baby yetu)
  • Other Civ 3 Conquests Main Menu, Civ 5 "Field of Poppies",
I would appreciate it very much if you had the option to set any main menu music from previous parts.

Maybe no classic yet, but a great and haunting song of Civ 5, whose return I would welcome.

Civ 3 Conquests main menu music for me is one of the best tracks ever , really great melody , it fits passing history theme.

Then Baba Yetu ofcourse.

I also like Civ 6 surface of the sun introduction trailer song since its release from Sunshine movie it some way I wished it were included in game..to bad..

Others.

Why do we not have the music from Civ 5? I think Civ 5 did a lot of impressive great pieces too, especially when they separate the war and peace themes, creating contrast and tension when you DoW.
Examples like:

Byzantium theme: Phos Hilarons
Arabic theme: Thikriati; Hijaz Maqam
Russian theme: Capulets and Montagues
Assyrian theme: I dunno the name

and many others.

Though I like music from previous versions too.
Why aren't we include Justinian's theme from Civ 4?

Looks like everyone wants Baba Yetu back. I concur.

I'd also like to draw your attention to the Civ2 intro theme, which is pretty iconic.

Looks like everyone wants Baba Yetu back. I concur.

I loved Baba Yetu at the time. It annoyed the hell outta me when Warlords had the different intro screen! And I was stoked when BTS allowed you to choose which ever of the three you liked best (Sound like a good idea @FXS_Sarah ? From the get go n R&F... Pleeeease! :D) But it's had it's day for me. I'd rather get the kick of hearing it again when I play IV. I love Sogno di Volare and think it is equally as good as it's awesome older sibling.

There are Some great pieces in ciV, especially Elegy and salute to the sun. But for nostalgia's sake I voted for the civ 1 and civ 2 themes

Good stuff. It brings back fond memories. *Sigh*

They need to do what Age if Empires is getting. The deluxe treatment.

I’d love to see the first four games in high res and with digitally remastered music.

Need to add this to Civ VI for the Japanese. Christopher Tin is amazing. :)
