Do 3-move units hurt gameplay?

I usually play Germans, not for any traits, but because I hate going from a 3 move offensive unit (Cavalry) down to a two move offensive unit (Tank). This got me thinking -- why should Cavalry have 3 moves in the first place?

Is it just me, or does the "Speed of War" get too fast with 3-move units? Sure, it's great fun going on a rampage with your Cavalry, but isn't that exactly why it's unbalancing?

Cheers,
Shawn

I guess tanks very pretty primitave and can brake down and probably don't go to fast. They were too heavy to move fast. I guess by the time modern armor we are so much more advanced.

Horses are faster against tanks, look at war Afgan vs. Russia. Horse back warriors and men with rifles :soldier: beat Russia out of their country, Russia having many tanks :tank: .

So in a sense this three move rule for Cavalry reflects the real world.

The first tank units were indeed primitive, and did not function much as rapid independent units.

That is why if you want a little realism remove the 'blitz' capability from tanks.
