We have a few non animated ones I think, but actually no good ones. I would definatly like to see it done. Someone started one, but didn't finish.

I agree, we really don't have a Irish leader yet. Well, I can produce one :D
Suggestions for leaders, city list, leaders list, threads and all other stuff r welcome ;)

All kinds of units are possible.
Short bowmen
Spear men (skrimishers)
Clansmen (early knights)
Since the vikings reined there for well over 100 years, even huskarls, and similar are possible.
of course amongst the most interesting and challenging would be a Druid... which would also work for ancient englad or scotland.

Good to see the project is working :)
Any suggestions for leaders, city list?
Oh, some images of the unit suggested would be great or find these units in CFC server. And o course, I can try make the UU myself too in case it was not done yet

As far I remember, there was an Irish mod on this forum named "Sibialtacht", what in Gaelic means "civilization". So the problem with city names is solved, I think. Speaking about leader, whoever wiil it be,EXCEPT Eamon de Valera. I suppose the Brian Boru is the best choice.

I would really like a Micheal Collins, but thats more personal interest in the guy, then how important he was as a leader, except for maybe, a Modern Ireland. If you are looking for a more modern leader (since alot of yours tend to be older, to kind of balance it) I think He works. Yeah Just not Eamon de Valera.

My vote for modern leader would go for Collins rather than Dev.
For ancient Brian Boru is good but maybe Cuchullainn, the hound of ulster, would be better.

good suggestions friends. well, my idea is a United Ireland (not only North and South, I mean, all the kingdoms), I don't know what modern or old leader could represent this.
good suggestions for UUs too :goodjob: , if someone has the links or images for reference, pls, post ;)

Make a Brian Boru and a Michael Collins leaderhead. Brian Boru to represent Medieval Ireland, Michael Collins to represent Modern Ireland.

I think I'm going to have another try on the Irish Civil War scenario and a Michael Collins leaderhead would make that even better.

If you mean UNITED Ireland, then Brian Boru is best choice, because he ruled all the Ireland. Under his rule Ireland was happy, powerful and united. Collins and Cuchulainn will be also good as military leaders. And that's why: first of them was very important for the rise of modern Ireland - no doubt - but he was not a ruler. Second was brave, strong warrior - but ONLY a warrior, he served for the king Conchobar Mac Ness. AND - don't forget about Jonathan Swift as Cultural Leader :0

Michael Collins wasn't a ruler? What are you talking about? He was a revolutionary leader, Minister of Finance, a member of the Irish delegation during the Anglo-Irish Treaty, Chairman of the Provisional Government, and Commander-in-Chief of the Irish Free-State's army. He was too a leader.

OK, OK man :) I know who Michael Collins was. I want to say he was not an INDEPENDENT ruler, meaning king, president or something of that kind. Sure, best solution wiil be as Dark Russel proposes, to create Collins for modern and Brian Boru for medieval Ireland. If only Civ Army will agree...I think this can be a good start to make Collins http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/war/easterrising/images/in/in06_t02.jpg For Modern ireland UU I suggest Army Ranger Wing soldier. The Unit is officially designated 'Sciathán Fianóglach an Airm' , which is translated as 'The Army Ranger Wing'. There is no direct English translation of the term 'Fianóglach' so the designation Ranger is the accepted version. 'Fianóglach' links the traditions of the 'Na Fianna' (Legendary Irish Warriors) with the present day Irish Defence Forces (Óglaigh na hÉireann). Some pictures you can find here : http://www.geocities.com/enda_mcg/arw.html

I propose St. Patrick :D ... no but seriously- if you want a truely Irish King you won't find one that deserves the title more or less than another... how about King Niall Noígiallach, Celtic conqueror of Ulster and King of Tara?

Niall succeeded his father around 400 AD and is said to have ruled for twenty-seven years. His reign marks the rise of Tara as the dominant power in the country. The origin of this power was the conquest of Ulster, the culmination of centuries of conflict between the Gael of Tara and the Ulaid of Emain Macha. This conflict is reflected in the mythical cycle known as the Ulster Cycle, which includes the Irish national epic, Táin Bó Cúailnge.

thanks for all the suggestions! Untill now my choice is Michael Collins and in the medieval era I can make him on Brian Boru or other Irish/Celtic king style :D But I didn't decide yet, so, if people has more suggestions, please, continue the debate :)
For UU I think I could choice a Medieval Unit to represent this era, since the leader already represents the modern Ireland.

I support Michael Collins as LH. Of course, the ancient or medieval rendition of him could look "a little" like Brian Boru, why not?
