Hey every strategic game i have ever played I try to use a simple cheat of saving the game at a given gold point, then finding the gold line with a simple hex editor, edit the save, with adding more gold......I am having problems finding it now but hope too......have you found it and where may I ask?
This is my first post so please stay on topic please....i mean if you dont know dont say why would you want to do that just play better; or use this other method lol
However I have played Civ frm civ 1 and actually think im at least kinda good at it...well maybe....so next comment wanted is who do you think is the best Civilizaion is to play
I kinda like the Japaneese...with their bushido code and the samurai unit is tough,.....but hands down the most advantageous IMO is the Germans...IF you put the setting on raging barbarians....cuz not only are their pike units tough, but all the free units from all the barbarians is a great ability

Moderator Action: Moved to C&C, fit's better here.

Are you basically trying to cheat an give yourself more gold?

I can tell you how to do that if you want...I'm just not sure I understand what you are saying.

tks for the offer, but i prefer the edit the gold in the save method...looking for a hint where, but will eventually find it i believe

Why editing a save when there are better methods? My mod, Ingame Editor (see my sig), allows you to change about everything in the game. If you're worried about risks of savegames corruption, my mod uses the functions provided by the civ5 devs themselves and they are the same functions than the ones used by the game itself. The only crash corruption that ever happened was that, at some point, my mod let you do changes that were actually prohibited (neighbor land and ocean hexes without a coast hex between them), it now prevents you to do it.

The only point of a save editor would be for those few things that have no API: changing the civilizations in a game, etc.

hmmm interesting editor, altho i will find the gold and use my method for gold, i really like what i saw of your editor for scenario building, looks fun, does it work with the newest add-on?

Yep. :) It works with or without G&K, with or without DLC, and with any mod afaik. I think it even works with the first, outdated, versions of civ5.
Now I suggest you do not try to mess with a hex editor: changing gold through IGE is easier and safer.

Your mod is a crutch and honestly as much as I love using it, I hate how it has given no one any insentive to get cracking on a real save editor, becuase one thing your editor can't do is save a game. Persistent crashing on turn end and theres nothing I can do about it. If I could edit this save and change it into a scenario with some kind of tool it would probably fix the whole shebang.(there's a chance it wont, but at least then that narrows down a lot of potential causes.)
