For the first time EVER I used this option. It makes the game a LOT more enjoyable! Faster paced, HUGE HORRIBLE WARS with unprecedented bloodshed, it's great! I'm going to use it every time now! I played the daylights out of Civ2, and never used it!

I only use it if I don't want to have to wait a long time to get things done when I want to achieve a conquest victory.

That's my main victory of choice. The Space race can be fun, but... Sometimes I like some good old-fashioned hell, death, and destruction. I do with that with Regicide, though, that all the cities became "neutral" or leaderless instead of all crumbling... But alas...

in multiplayer games and email games yes, otherwise no, for some reason it seems also to amplify the difficulty of the level, ie monarch and above seems harder, below regent it seems easier

Never, I like to play the game to the fullest. I feel its harder when your production speed isn't doubled. I don't mind playing games that take days or even weeks to finish.

God no

I always played with AP in the beginning, and then started playing without cause I wanted to give cultural victories a chance... and damn, did the games feel sloooooow.

But now I've gotten used to it and almost never use AP, except when I plan to go straight for warmongering and want a lot of action.

Only occasionally, though I've got a slightly insane Emperor accelerated game going at the moment, on a huge map with corruption off, and AI aggression to full. I just cracked a Russian city with 19 spearmen in it, which is a first. Shame they had no iron or saltpeter.

In the Multiplayer community we play nearly exclusively accelerated production.

Tried it, don't like it.

It practically doubles your shield production, but city growth and wealth stay at the same pace. So I feel it unbalances the game.
Besides, I finally learned how to make settler and worker factories, and I found AP messes that all up.

All game balance is blown away with accelerated production as Frollo mentioned, I never use it.

First, AP doesn't increase the number of shields produced, it reduces the cost of improvements, wonders, units. And it doesn't only apply to shields. Accelerated production cuts production, growth, and research costs in half. Culture is not affected.

If I played real-time modes of MP I would give it a go, but for SP and PBEM games it detracts far too much from what Civ is about.

If you want a fast game play an FPS game (or real-time MP Civ). :p

Only in MP. It seems to be a blunt adjustment that ends up dilluting some of the subtleties of the game. Though its great if you want to get a quick game in or want to go for a domination win.

The poll should have a simple "NO" choice. I've never tried it so I can't say that I hate it or not.
