WHAT???? You don't know asteroids and breakout..
Shame on you! ;)
I forgot blockout, also very addictive: it's 3D tetris. Thinking of it, tetris still is fun.

PUYO PUYO!!! Okay, it might not be that old.. it dates back to the SEGA Genesis era, but still, I like it much more than Tetris and Columns =D

I don't think they date back as far as asteroids. lol But One of my old favourites was Bards Tale 1, 2 and 3.... mmmm *memories*

And does anyone remember the old unix text 'dungeon' games?

I've seen Centipede recently, in addition to Asteroids and Breakout. And the one where you are trying to land that spaceship on the moon -- is it called Lunar Landing or Lunar Module or something like that?

A lot of the old games for the BBC Micro , published by Superior Software in the 1980s are still under copyright, though I dont believe anywhere is actually selling them anymore ;-)
(There is becoming something of a 'collectibles' market for such old games, especially those where the original packaging is also in good condition)

PONG! :D

Enough said.

EDIT: Then I actually read the question. ;)

Did you know that a lot of the older games are owned by Microsoft?

I believe centipede(also known as caterpillar i think) is abandonware :)

Doesn't this actually belong in All Other games? ;)
