I play to win, although I always seem to win Time Victory (which simply means AI didn't win in given Time, so now whoever paid for the game wins :D and so I win)... and that too on Warlord

I don't play to win. I play to roleplay France, which means if I dont get Notre Dame, The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, I resign. I will also tend not to build any other wonders besides the National Wonders which can somewhat limit your chances for victory. I might win 1 game in 6, but I rarely ever finish them, before I make a new start.

Depends what I'm doing.

On higher difficulties (Emperor +) I'll always have a specific game plan and will play towards it, but some of the time I'll play a lower level and just build a ridiculous empire for the sake of it.

I rarely care about winning. I've barely seen the winscreen actually.

I often set personal goals. Like ''conquer that neighbour before the medieval era''. Or getting the best sites near me, growing the cities, building improvements and roads untill it looks the way I like.

Reminds me of one of my favourite games ever. Inca on highlands map. I shared this beautifull, green river valley with Songhai. There were only two one-tile passes leading out to the other civs. I took Songhai, build a third city on a perfect location (especiall for inca) and then improved it all, build a road network going in a circle through the valley, forted the entrances and declared war on everyone. Sadly nobody came so I quit but that felt like a great achievement.

I tend to play to win, but sometimes I just quit without finishing because I know I've already won but don't have the patience to see it through. Or quit before the end on Deity, if I know I've screwed up and going to lose very shortly.

And sometimes I encounter something interesting on this site and want to start a new game just to try it myself, without finishing a game I'd spent hours with...

I always play to win... although 90% of the time I prefer to play for domination type victories, just because I find it more fun....

I generally play random civs on random maps just to mix things up a little.... even better if I get poor military civ and a bad staring position.....

However maybe Ill try and at least give the other victory conditions a go.... seems like I'm missing out on a whole different game experience....
