Do you play with Victory Point Scoring?

I'm just wondering if people play with Victory Point Scoring on or off.

Personally, I sometimes have it on and somtimes I leave it off.

i must admit if i play an epic game i set the victory points to 1000000, then change unit kill to 1 and the others to 0, just so I can judge whether who is successful militarily without any danger of the game ending on vp's

Yes, I think victory points are an excellent idea!!

I have used them in several test LAN games, and they provide a much better 'score' than the default score which in my view favours the 'REX'ing players far too much. I also have changed the weighting to not favour military achievements so much.

If I have one request, it is that if Victory points are enabled, then they should show as the default score on the multiplayer screen

One annoying thing is the victory point scores are put on the same list as the "regular" scores in teh high scores list.

But VP scores tend to be muc higher than "normal" scores, so the high score list is all messed up.

I also am not sure how the location VP score works. Do I get the 25 points *every* time I contact a location marker? Or only the first time?

How realistic is it? What would be a real world interpretation of VPS?

I am trying a large regent epic with VPs (default values) for the first time.

You get 25 points for every turn that you have a military unit on the VP location marker.

For any turn in which you "possess", that is your troops are on the same tile as the VPL, you get those 25 points.

Personally, I have the VP condition on all the time. All I do, I reset it to 987654 points, so nobody will win just on victory points. But it gives you some hints about what is going on in the fog
