Do you randomly choose civs to play or do you pick from a short list of favorites?

None of those choices - I want to play each Civ at least once. Probably I would get bored with playing the same one multiple times in a row.

I always have a specific strategy I want to try next always involving a specific civ, next up is autocracy with japan

Random 98% of the time. The 2% comes from cherry picking a civ to unlock an achievement.

Recently I saw a tier list of powerful civs, and I saw my favourite civ (regarding power) was the second last

I love egypt, I think wonders are pretty powerful in civ5, and I also prefer special buildings than units. I was suprised to see it the second worst civ in that list.

Egypt is stronger now with a triple buff: 1. wonders are more powerful, 2. chariot archers are more powerful, and 3. tradition bonus keeps dropping, it's now down to +15% (indirect buff b/c other civs don't get as much bonus now).


I chose random most of the time. Sometimes I'll cancel a game if the civ is too powerful and I'm not playing deity, or if I just recently played it, however.
