Do you say Nuclear or Nukular?

Just wondering how many here can pronounce nuclear correctly, despite the president's inability to do so.
Not a rip on the president, but more on his aids. No one in the entire administration can tell him "pssst. Sir, I don't mean to be rude, but it's pronounced 'nuclear' 'new-klee-err'".
It just bothers me, because it makes him look even more like the idiot that many already take him for. I may not be crazy about his politics, and I don't think he is a very good speaker, but I don't necessarily think he's stupid either.
Then, maybe its deliberate. Maybe polls show that politicians who say "nukular" are better received by audiences because it gives them that "down home feeling" and correct pronunciation makes people consider the politician an egghead. That would be kind of sad in itself.
Ok, end rant.
So how do you pronounce it?

I notice it every time too, I actually notice most grammatic and lingual errors, and it hurts inside, when I hear such consequent mistakes in pronounciation...

I agree, someone should tell Bush that...

As a student of linguistics, I would be ashamed if I pronounced it anything but "nuclear".

However, having lived in many different places, both in the USA and in Europe, and having worked with people from all over (the US military is a great "mixing pot" ), I can attest that many people do pronounce it "nukular". I even had a high school teacher who pronounced it that way.

That's truly sad. No educated person should pronounce the word as NEW-cu-lar. That ranks up there with LIE-berry or the-A-ter, which are both signs of ill breeding and a lack of culture.
