Do you think businesses are too qualification minded?

The movie about the doctors whom discovered heart intervention pictures well the situation. It's that movie with Alan Rickman where he plays Dr Blalock. I'm not referring to him but the man who works with him. He didn't have titles and he really had to fight to get recognized. It was a very good movie as everything involving Alan Rickman.

You must be talking about Something the Lord Made, a cable movie about the invention of surgery for tetralogy of Fallot. The surgeon's name was Vivien Thomas, although it's a guy.

I think that businesses are not too qualification minded, today, at least. Before, when the market was less competitive, say, 25 years ago, my father busted into the carpet business in Chicago with only two years of college under his belt. Now, to get a job such as the one he has now, it would require much more schooling, simply because there are more applicants for white collar jobs, and they need something other than interviews in order to distinguish.
