Superb photo finish, romeothemonk!

I think this SG was exactly how it should be - challenging, but doable; nice discussion; errrors to learn from; and finally victorious despite looking like a lost case in between.
The big turning point for me was when I was able to trade for Rel Prosecution (not because I did it!), at that time I felt we can win it.

@Vizurok: I'm planning to post all of the MAM scenarios in the Scenarios forum, could you provide me a (short, ~5 should be enough) list of better city names? Remember, the very first city will be at/near the Balaton, so I guess either Szekesfehervar or Sopron, which one is better historically?

And imagine, I managed to get a Mongol mod working (even for AI Mongolia!) , including a complete Tech tree, asian flavor units, new Governement,... darn proud of it ;)

Will post it on the weekend; signups?

And it was your superb diplomatic skills that pulled it off. you saved the bacon at least twice by my count, after I'd dropped us in the soup! :)
 
I learned a few very important things on the way to victory here.
1) Alliances do not mean much to the AI in conquest scenarios where they have naturally high agression levels. If you can't sign them, it is not the end of the world. Treaties without large gpt values are almost always borekn in ~10 turns. ROP's are not much protection against being allied against, but they are some protection.
2) If your rep is trashed, you can force your opponent to the peace table and make him take gpt. This works well vs weaker militaries. Never forget this. I was able to get 4 3rd age techs through judicious trading this way.
3) Let them invade you. Even Poland, who was weak compared to us, threw over 90 units at our border. I managed one city cpature and then set up some kill zones and went to work. Against the Byzantines DH put up a blockade that I turned into a redoubt vs the Byzantines.
4) When they can the byzantine army consisted of Inquisitors, longbows and mercs. There was the odd spy but the only cataphract I saw was on Defense. Maybe wait a while and then take out the Byzantines. It is a theory.
5) I should have razed more cities. Larissa flipped on us 3 times. If I would have razed it, no flipping occurs. (although the recaptures fattened our VP total)
6) Build a densely packed series of towns in the boonies of your empire for unit support. This worked really well for us and is probably a must have for a bulgar or Pole Mod as well.

If the Mongol game won't be over Demigod, I would join (if it is possible). I am really looking forward for playing with such a good team.
 
The Mongol game is considerable shorter (you cannot do anything before turn 100), thus I think 3 players are enough. However, since it starts as usual in 843, the world is not in a fixed state in 1143, so I simply suggest to make 2 teams. What about:

Roster 1:
Doc Tsiolkovski
Deceased Horse?
Vizurok?

Roster 2:
Bede
romeothemonk?
Gogf (EMP or DG really doesn't matter that much)?

Of course, those are only suggestion, feel free to switch!

Level will be DG; the level mainly affects the tech situation when we hit the scene, and DG means the strong Civs just start with Pikes in their core; Spears make things a little too easy.

I only have a minor problem in finishing the mod: I need something like a Wall unit graphic, and there are some (Kinboat!) on the forum, but the links are all dead....
Unless someone can provide me with anything applicable, I'll have to use an odd-looking placeholder (Lincoln ;) ).

I will be on this game like a fat kid on a pan of brownies. As soon as it is out I will tool around on it and then set up a thread for us to go off of.
