well heres the deal ... i played a small map with medium water % and i spawned on an island , quite big and quite alone... so i started developing and soon found 3 lux. items and about that time i made contact with greek i think who where on other island with indians , americans , persians and zulus. so quickly started trade and managed to sell some of my techs to them and got there world maps... and quicly realized that india will win this game. mister gandhi had about 5 times more land and cities then everybody else. but as soon as i made contact with them they were quite nice 2 me. i did not have and big army or industrial might i just had a whole continent about 1/2 size of total indian territory. so i monitored the event on the other continent and soon indians destroyed americans and zulus with about 6 or 7 turns (a real war machine) so i got really scared... i even thought about quitting this game but indians never ever attacked menot even requested anything ... and finally when there was a sea trade availiable i traded with india all my spare lux.

So did india knew that .. that i would be a great trading partner in the future ...

can anyone explain the indians behaviour ...

coz i know that when indians get big they get aggressive

I do know that the AI will look at available land, and produce settlers to populate that land. Whether or not they acutally look at your territory and say "Yeah, Amon has furs, I don't. I should be nice to him." I don't know about. I don't think so, as in my experience they've never done that. Of course, by the time I've got resource denial to another Civ, I've taken quite a lot of their territory. . .

one more thing i looked at te map later and relised that 4 lux that i held was only in my territori so full monopoly ...

they prob just didnt want to fight a transcontinental battle, or maybe they just calmed down.
BTW, did they win in the end, or did you pull out a diplo or space race? i guess you wouldnt win military.

no i lost the game ... 2050 ... the whole world was so behind in tech that i fought my last war with cavarly in 2030 =) i had about 600 points but india had 900 or something like that

oh well, at least you survived where others didnt.

I am very sure the reason India never attacked or demanded anything, is because they have the lowest aggression setting. Zululand and Germany have the highest, and they probably started the wars against India, who of course wiped them out. (Ghandi probably used a lot of his War Elephants, gaining a GA, and thus being able to smash them flat)

At least I think you should have tried to wipe him out.. :)
