I will explain it trough my current game:

Standard map size, continents (8 civs) I have started on a big island with france and zulú, and I became a little ****ty with both :hammer: of them, breaking pacts and razing some towns, and then suddently greece apears on the continent with a little settlement. :D

I comunicate with each other and trade communications / world maps, getting some techs, but then i can apreciate they were all anoyed with me !! :(

My cuestion is... my neighbours tell'em all that i was playing a rol of a bad guy? in other words: there is some kind of "general attitude variable" witch determines somehow part of the other civs attitude toward you??

Thx to all in advance :)

Good question! I know that when civs already have contact they do communicate what a 'bad guy' you are. Also I am pretty sure that if you wipe out a civ before they contact anyone else that does not give you a bad rep. I am not sure about actions taken before contact was established. My guess would be that these actions would have no effect (e.g. the greeks shouldn't believe what the french and zulu say about you), but I really don't know.

I can't say for sure, but I recently destroyed 2 civs on my island before meeting everyone else (in a very unfriendly way). The new civs were really angry with me, and I think it is because my reputation came with me.

As I say, I may be totally wrong, and the newer civs may have just taken a bad attitude anyway...

Yes, when Civ A gets contact with Civ B they will tell them everything they know about other civs, including you.

For this reason, I completely destroy a civ if my rep has been tarnished before they can go and tell everyone about it.

In one of the season 1 tournament games, I killed off England on my continent (before mapmaking) before they got contact with anyone, then hopped over to the nearby island and killed off India and Japan before the rest of the world contacted us (just me by then) and they got to me around the navigation/astronomy time period.
