I have discovered in multiplayer that is it very hard to stop dog soldiers. What you want to do is get one worker going right away - then barrax then 3-4 dogs. Ur tech should be mining- bronze. It is pretty fast as a matter of fact sinc eyou dont need copper for dogs. And if u time it right u get bronze owrkign right after gettign a barrack so u can cranch a few real fast with chopping wood. Once u get dogs send stack to nearest neighbor.

Unless he has horse by his town he is pretty much ruined. Dogs kill azmen for lunch by the way- . Enemies only option is to get archers but many players dont get archery till later since its a defensive tech. Plus if u sneak on him he shouldnt have mor ethen 4 turns to prepare.
Now u get a 2nd capital !:king:

Will have to try this. :)

Just tried the puppy rush. Izzy was next door ,and now she's pushing up daisies.

Next evil plan is to beeline Feudalism for a drill III longbow rush on neighbor number 2.

this was ment for mp:p. obvany sort of improved axemen rush works against ai.

It's a good strategy. However, if you see an opponent playing Sitting Bull next to you, you have to prioritize Archery. Dog Soldiers are great against axes or swords, but they do not do well against archers in cities.

I tried this in a single-player game. The AI building archers made it much less effective. I needed Iron to build swords and crack the archers.

Also, I think Stonehenge should be a huge priority for Sitting Bull. Being able to whip out CGII/Drill I archers immediately is great.

Some questions:

You are scouting with your Warrior to see who to rush, right? Building a worker and than a Barracks? You aren't finding that leaves your city undefended too long? I see an empty capital, I declare war.

Or are you leaving the Warrior there and Scouting with your first Dog Soldiers?
That would ruin the element of surprise, if you were scouting. Hmm...

The Dog Soldier rush is great. I haven't tried it above Noble yet, but I've found that the AI cities are guarded by Warriors for a while.

Going Warrior - Worker while teching up to BW and then rushing some Dog Soldiers is a quick way to grab a nearby capital in the early game.

The OP was to multiplayer (wrong Forum, I know) where the 'worker-first' approach usually leads to the 'first-killed' conclusion.

Yeah, the dog warriors are pretty rough on multiplayer. Even if you can't take his city (archers defending on a hill city, say) you can pillage his brains out and force a resignation. His archers can turtle but can't really take the fight to the dog warriors. They're not as fast as Impis, but just as frustrating and much harder to counter.

If I saw a guy playing Sitting Bull, I'd take a Protective civ and work on my chariots ASAP.

building worker first must be done carefully, if u see someon eaproaching switch in time- otherwise u can always pop one after dog soldiers are done. aslo u should attack SUDDENLY. enemy wil only have about 4 turns to prepare. that means u can still kill 1 archer and some warriors inside. He could even not have archry yet for all u know- just be fast. if it fails jsut sit by his capital till ccatapults- thats expensive thow
