Domestic Consulate: Government Poll

Also, this is for the first government we will go into. Even if you would like to go a route such as Monarchy -> Republic, still vote for Monarchy now.

2 Day Poll, Single Choice, Public.

As I said in the discussion thread, we should prepare ourselves for two government switches in the near future. For the coming war(s) with the Indians or Dutch, it would be a good idea to have Monarchy as our government. However, upon concluding the war(s), I strongly recommend we make the switch to Republic. Zyxy gave an excellent analysis of the government in the discussion thread, so I won't try to repeat it here. Suffice it to say, Monarchy will help us in the short-term, and Republic will help us in the long-term. Thus, we should switch to Monarchy before going to war, and then change over to Republic in the near future.

I don't think we yet have any of these government techs and still have more to research before we get there (eg: Poly or CoL). I therefore hope that each of these options is for the earliest we want to change if we can and that wars will not be held up as a result of this if we don't get the required techs.

I voted for Republic "after the first war, before future wars" because that is closest to what I'd like. My preference is Republic after our first Indian and Dutch wars (the Dutch war will follow on the heels of the Indian war; we'll have a second war with each later). However, the way the poll question is written, it could probably be taken to mean that; at least that's how I'm reading it.

This is really to see which government we want, and what general time. Since it looks like we won't revolt before our first war, I'll repoll this again once we get the techs, and we're finished with our first war, so this is just to get a general idea. Your vote is fine, Bertie.

I believe that we should have only one change of government and that should be to Republic.
