I've got to make this quick, as I must eat before I go to work.

Since we aren't going to war with the Iros, or at least we'd go then stop then go then stop (how's that for being Diplomatic?), we can NOT use Veii as the Forbidden Palace, despite the results of my poll earlier in the month.

So we must seek for a new location.

There were 2 competitors, Rome, former capital of Lugg...whatever, and Odawara (which I recommend).

Please give me more ideas for possible cities.

Also, I have 2 Rush proposals on my desk:
Rushing the Courthouse of Rome (60 Gold or 8 Turns)
Rushing the Aquaduct of Furuyama (336 Gold or 42 Turns)

Personal opinion: As to the Former, the 8 turns should say it all. As to the Latter, micromanaging for Production should cut the Production time in half, and allow it to produce naturally before Furuyama maxes out. So, even if we do rush it later, it'll cost much less.

Thoughts?

I really don't think courthouses are worth rushing at all, especially at this point in the game. Aqueducts on the other hand...

Yes to a rush in Furuyama once we micromanage it, and it costs <100 gold. Courthouses aren't really worthy unless we will get +1 gold back, to negate the cost of the courthouse...

As for the FP: Lugdinium (sp?) I think is the city you wanted - any city is fine with me.

Rome Courthouse will get gold back and increase production by few shields. It is also good way to boost all other improvements in long run.

Furuyama aquaduct is currently too expensive, we should rush it when the price drops to around 100 gold, max 150.

I agree that both the Courthous and Aquaduct are worth building. These are both in productive areas and should not be rushed. Save our money and use it for deficit science research.

The only other locations I see for the FP that might be good are Doomsville and En'Gha. Time to get CivAssist working again:

Code:
FP in....	Odwa Rome Doom En'Gha none

Rome 20% / 2% / 12% / 36% / 86%
Doomsville 5% / 8% / 1% / 8% / 39%
Odawara 1% / 13% / 5% / 5% / 28%
Baldur's Gate	12% / 9% / 12% / 28% / 74%
Regent Town	40% / 41% / 19% / 24% / 49%
Port Solema	28% / 12% / 32% / 52% / 93%
Corrino 12% / 28% / 28% / 18% / 30%
En'Gha 9% / 20% / 12% / 2% / 21%
Ominato 37% / 9% / 36% / 66% / 95%
Gerunshi	28% / 32% / 9% / 20% / 62%
Drachenfels	28% / 40% / 18% / 18% / 42%
Duckburg	28% / 36% / 36% / 36% / 38%
Epolenep	27% / 27% / 27% / 22% / 28%
Nihilon 20% / 20% / 20% / 9% / 21%

75 gold corrupted for Odawara, 79 for Rome, 76 for Doomsville, and 77 for En'Gha, compared to the current 123 gold

It would take Odawara 9 turns to build the Forbidden Palace (12 turns from scratch), Rome 68 turns (estimated 40 turns after completing courthouse (I estimated a fraction over 50% corruption with a courthouse, if anyone is curious)), Doomsville 19 turns (25 turns from scratch), and En'Gha 7 turns (16 turns from scratch).

En'Gha seems a bit weak when compared to Odawara and Doomsville.

It looks likes Odawara is the ideal place to plant the Forbidden Palace.

By the way, I hereby bequeath the rights to decide the where and when of building the FP to Minister Donald III(this is my department after all, but you seem to be doing an excellent job with it :)).

In that case, Minister Ashburnham, I request that you get to work on deciiding which city would get to rush a Heroic Epic in the event we get a Victorious Army. :)

I like Doomsville more than Oda because the southern cities all have a lot more growth ahead of them. By the time they are up to size 12 then gold savings for corruption will edge out Odawara as the Edo core is already at size 10-12.

Odawara is better placed then Doomsville especially if we do not attack iros and babs. I was looking at queues and Odawara almost has nothing to build: Colosseum is done in 4 and Granary in next 4 turns. We have plenty of workers.... We don't need more army..

I suggest to start building FP immediately after Colosseum next turnchat because Oda doesn't need Granary (it has 12 pop).

Ugh... Sorry guys... too much stuff went on at work... And was also too focused outward rather than inward. So no rushes this week.

Rik, Furu's Aquaduct would still be under consideration for next TC.

Invy, does Odawara have a bank? if not, we could probably use that as a Prebuild untilk next TC.

Odawara does have a bank. I would say that after the colosseum Odawara should start on the FP as a pre-build. We can then poll on if this is where we really want it.
