Doomed Galactic Journey (Game Thread)

Renata, I need to come clean... To your purely clean lab! (Starts putting on a Scrub Suit.)

OOC"
I need to talk to you NAO! AIM is LhdngE.

A bit excitable there aren't you, Teacher? I know no more than you. But some of our fellows are apparently feeling ill, and Kulko's reported vaccine does imply a contagion. I'm sorry if that upsets you.

"Your methods require getting used to but for now I believe you. Though I wonder what Vlatixan command would say if we arrive at the colony without any civilians." (Vanguard)

"I am positive we would be greeted warmly should we succeed in bringing the scientists out alive. Those are some of the best minds in the empire. You lot are teachers, haircurlers and telephone cleaners, excuse my language. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, we don't need you."

Voting to kill nobody serves no purpose. Voting for quarantine is sensible, I would say

Dawn perks up at this, looking up from a breakfast that was hardly picked at. "Excuse me, sir... erm... captain... sir? but I fail to see that logic. how does killing somebody on a whim help us unless we are trying to conserve oxygen for those popular few? if that is the goal then how does quarantine help?" Somehow Dawn seems to be more at ease with the absurdity of this reality (assuming this is not just a bad dream) than with life at her old high school. She no longer worried about anybody noticing the unusual colour of her eyes. If all it took for you to be killed was a gut-feeling or your profession then this was surely better... at least you got to look somebody in the eye while you were stabbed in the back.

Dawn perks up at this, looking up from a breakfast that was hardly picked at. "Excuse me, sir... erm... captain... sir? but I fail to see that logic. how does killing somebody on a whim help us unless we are trying to conserve oxygen for those popular few?"

"You hit the nail on the head there."

..."if that is the goal then how does quarantine help?"

"To identify who is not a killer or saboteur, of course."

"ah", Dawn was dumbfounded for a moment, how did she not think of that? "well that does make sense.... so we shouldn't vote for somebody to be executed, right? Am I being a complete airhead here? "

Abgar answers Dawn in a serious tone. He realizes that an innocent may be killed, but realizes that not doing so, will result in the death of the whole crew.
"I don't know what Vanguard's opinion is, but the reality is we don't have a choice. If we don't kill anyone we'll all end up suffocating."

I don't feel that there is good evidence against anyone here, but PaulusIII makes a good point. Snerk's voting yesterday was odd, and his explanation was severely lacking.

"The damage to the warp drive is bad news. We were likely to run out of air even before then. Now, it looks pretty close to inevitable. Still, I'm not willing to give up yet. Snerk, stop breathing my air. I think you should join us in this vote, Vanguard, unless you have a better plan to save us all."

"I don't know what Vanguard's opinion is, but the reality is we don't have a choice. If we don't kill anyone we'll all end up suffocating."

"well I guess that does make sense in a way... still feels horribly like waiting to be asked out for the prom." Dawn realizes that decisions will have to be made. not everybody is going to make it unless there is a major breakthrough.

Have you all so quickly forgotten that Diamondeye has recieved the benefit of the secret votes twice in a row? He would surely be my vote except that a look at the posts reveal that Hell_Hound has not made an appearance yet. Speak up sir. I defended you earlier from the accusation of silence but you were out of town then. A quick look at your profile reveals that you were active today though. Can anybody speak for the activity of our Brewer?

OOC: Must I remind you all of last game where J-Man was caught by his lack of participation? And the one before that when merciary was caught for not participating.... a pattern perhaps?

I personally think the secret votes don't necessarily imply guilt. I mean, it could be a frame, right?

"Good point, Commando... Hmph. We gave him another chance, and let him suck up some of our valuable air. I think that hell_hound has had a long enough grace period."

I personally think the secret votes don't necessarily imply guilt. I mean, it could be a frame, right?
It indeed could be. If it only happened once, I'd be inclined to agree with you. And indeed, I did agree at that point that the secret vote was by no means a sure indicator of guilt But it has happened twice in a row now, and that becomes much harder for me at least to write off as a simple frame.

Still it's possible, hence the hell_hound vote and not a diamondeye vote

The dark-haired scientist shoots an annoyed glance at the Janitor.

Brilliant deduction! Why, in one fell swoop, you have ruled out exactly 0% of the possibilities!

My dear lady of infinite mental abilities, you are quite right, that I my meager ressources hadn't allowed me to make the necessary deductions.

But why can't your haughtyness not come to my aid and fill in the need?

Being well aware of my insufficient intelligence, I merely stated the possibilities to warn. A lot of people seem to assume the first explanation that the secret voters are the killers without explanation and distrust anybody who is voted for.

I myself lean to te second one, because the voting is not consistent with the killing for me.

I change my vote - why hasn't Hell-Hound yet spoken?

"I concur. While we might question the nonsense that Snerk utters, he at least is saying something. hell_hound, speak up or die."

Hell_hound, your silence betrays you.
